DNT & Miniranks

after seeing that DNT will actually be a thing, i have a suggestion that i think would bring benefit and hopefully restore some peace

my suggestion is that:

miniranks owned through trading by a previously banned and now DNT user should go to a 'Sythe minirank pool'

from this pool there are 2 options for distribution which are 2 sub-suggestions basically


A) these miniranks slowly get released at random in the form of a prizebox (this would please members of the community because it's always nice to receive a prizebox)



B) (which is now my more favored option)

a sub-forum (?) would be created or something different where DNT user miniranks get auctioned off to Sythe members

the $ generated by the miniranks would then go to repaying scam victims


imo both of these options would please the community and would further punish DNT members because they should not be associated with trades in any way

this also (although slight) has the potential to encourage them to repay victims/pardon/fend off future scams


i see this as a win-win and the only party losing out is the scammer/DNT user which is how it should be as they are being punished.

also i believe it's healthier for minirank activity in the long-run and would get more people involved

Don't think they'll do this and a lot of people will complain about losing their miniranks despite the fact that this is meant to be a punishment anyways. If this has a chance of happening I support, but alternatively they should be hidden for all DNT users at the very least. I'm speaking of the minirank pool idea.

Option A is unlikely to happen as Prizeboxes are already kind of existent out of nothing and thus i'm not sure it's possible/likely to have DNT users' miniranks be distributed in the form of Prizeboxes, as Prizeboxes already exist. It'd pretty much be the equivalent of Prizeboxes already existing and DNT users' miniranks just being deleted.

B. I'd say is slightly more possible but still highly unlikely, also considering the fact that not all DNT users (and most of them right now) aren't banned for outstanding debt.

I do support however that DNT users have their donation ranks, fun ranks, miniranks, postcount, referrals etc. hidden. All that should be seen when they post is literally their name and a DNT rank. Thus I also support what PA said right above me.

Unless the user scammed, I don't think their miniranks should be taken away from them, just hidden until they pardon successfully.

If said user has scammed, their miniranks should 100% be stripped and given to scam victims, I also believe their donation rank should be stripped and given to scam victims also (if the scam victims would prefer a donation rank.)


A better idea is the scammers miniranks and donor rank are put up for sale at a set price, (example: IDB has a $500 donor rank, but owes TTB $1000+ - If TTB doesn't want the donation added to him, he can sell it to another user for a lower price (e.g $450) and the $500 donation is then moved from IDB to the person TTB sold it to.)
It sounds complicated, but I know how easy it is to move donor ranks and remove donor ranks, a bond holder in the CDT could easily help do auctions and buyouts for donation ranks.

 

Option B but DNT users shouldn't have the privilege of showing anything but DNT

Miniranks are worthless to some people so I think the auction may be a decent alternative to have in the event that the victim doesn't want them, they can be given the money received for them. I also think this idea has been tossed around before but not sure what ever came of it.

Interesting idea with the donation ranks as well, not entirely sure how I feel about that. One thing I feel is that people may think of it as a "better than nothing" solution and take a donor rank they essentially don't very much care for and effectively and technically screwing themselves out of actual repayment should the offender ever return. I am of course speaking of lower level donors who are banned for scamming/outstanding debt because eventually there would be so many on the market they'd either be worthless or anyone interested in bidding on them would probably have bought more than they could want.

 

This, after all the shady shit that they've done, they're lucky enough to even be brought back to the forums.

 

DNT is meant to be a rank which gives us equal stance in the community just like a member, we may not have market stances, but in the community we have just as many rights as any member(as we have everything a regular member does, in terms of community).

If your not going to take miniranks off regular members, you shouldn't for the DNT is how I view it, also I find it pretty strange if someone pays for a minirank sythe administration would just steal it back.

as DNT your only business here should be to post so anything that is/was accumilated through the market should not be associated with you (this is what you signed up for and supported)

Personally in support of selling ranks/miniranks to cover scam funds. Probably not donor ranks, that might get messy.

IS THIS ONLY A SUGGESTION FOR DNT WITH SCAM VICTIMS THAT CAN BE REFUNDED or are you wanting to take miniranks from every single DNT member even if they don't have scam victims?

 

all miniranks, as you shouldn't be here in the first place so why have them at all.

 

Because I paid $500+ for all my mini's, what your talking about is scamming.

DNT members might be full members some day, you cant just steal their money lol.
