[POLL] Rank privileges for market banned users

Leave them. They were earned. Make the DNT stay in the first spot. The majority are drama bullshit bans that are old and have nothing to deal with the market.

 

Yeah but what about "retired staff" ranks and such.. I don't think it would be advisable to have a DNT user show "retired staff etc" side by side, but its just my opinion.

 

Yep, "I'm retired staff, I requested the rank because I don't trade often" preeeeeetty convincing to new users.

 

I dont think I am following.. I am saying that if an ex-staff member is unbanned they shouldn't show "retired/ex-staff" ranks next to a DNT.. It just gives a weird message is all.

 

If they were banned for a legitimate reason, not drama bs, then yeah get rid of it/hide it.

 

Finn is a prime example why even drama related bans needs to have ALL ranks/UT's stripped

 

all ranks incl miniranks hidden, signature hidden & imo if they scammed their miniranks should be donated to a Sythe pool from which prizeboxes are randomly distributed over time; this would help with making some miniranks more scarce overtime and make adding new miniranks (such as the pokemans) a better idea. (It would also act as another disincentive for people to scam in the first place) if as @Sythe was talking about a 'rehabilitation' with DNT i believe this would be a great approach.

 

I have to be honest... taking away their MR's could be an awesome idea as long as they didnt TRADE to get them. If they earned them then that would be a different story. If you start seizing MR's they bought in the past it would probably lead to a very long and heated debate

Well there is a SLIGHT difference tbh. If you donate you are SUPPOSED to be giving youre money and not expecting anything in return. WHen you trade you most definitely are expecting something in return.

 

debatable, but imo the point still stands as they're lucky as it is to still even be on the site so they shouldn't be privileged enough to have miniranks imo.

how about this:

if they paid for miniranks and they scammed someone/people or whatever why not have some sort of minirank auction section of the forum? sort of like when an irl business liquidates? this would generate more forum activity and also punishes the DNT user

so let's say you scammed me right?

your miniranks (incl bought ones) would go into the sythe pool. these would then be auctioned off and the $ would go directly to Sythe in the form of a donation to the website

I see your point and I don't think its a horrible idea. I'm just trying to be realistic in terms of what would ever be approved realistically by the staff and community (f they had a say). Now if you re-worded it to where miniranks would be auctioned off and the proceeds would go to restitution to the victim then that would be much better.

Again, this is just my opinion

 

yeah that'd be a good idea, so you mean it gets auctioned etc and the buyer gets the minirank and each minirank sold which is linked to a scam gets contributed to victim(s)?

Yes. EIther the victim gets the users MR's or they are auctioned off and the victim can get a credit for donor equal to that value

I haven't seen this thrown around yet but we should remove vouch threads. There's no use at all for them.

Biased point of view I guess, but I don't see why not to keeping the ranks, after all its not a secret that users have been moderators in the past.

 

It can easily give new users a false sense of security.
