    Is god imaginary?

I don't even have to watch that video to know that there is no God. I will be making a debate thread in a little while as soon as Shawn_ reads my pm about it. Until then I'll just refute what arguments are here.

Yes, everything is a coincidence. Prayer is NOT real. If God answers prayers, how come no amputees get healed? I'm sure they get prayed for just as much as a cancer patient, but when a cancer patient's chemotherapy is a success, religious followers call it a "miracle of God". So if an amputee doesn't get healed with all the prayer for him, would that be called a "failure of God"?

Yes chemical reactions can create this world, given the right substances needed and enough time scientists could create a replica of Earth I think. Yes, we evolved, maybe not from monkeys, maybe from something else, but we did evolve. As far as monkeys evolving in the zoo, you are a complete idiot who doesn't understand evolution. Evolution is a slow, gradual process of natural selection. They are actually evolving, as is everything, we just can't see the small gradual changes. Evolution takes hundreds of thousands of years.

That's a real good attitude for a follower of God isn't it?

Love is just a strong emotional attachment. When you feel love, all it is is electrical signals in your brain and chemicals such as dopamine going to work.

This thread will be pointless since atheists/christians won't change their opinion

    Is god imaginary?

God is like.......hmm....well heres my example..

This kid is in Australia. His teacher asks him "do you believe in America" and the kid responds "yes, i do". The teacher asks him "have you ever been to america? have you ever seen america?" The kid answeres back "no". the teacher then asks him "then why do you believe in america? you have no proof it exists".

    the boy responds-

Although i've never SEEN america, i know it exists. There is undeniable proof america exists. Theres MILLIONS of books written about america which can only lead to one conclusion-America must exist.

God is real! Making this thread will gain you nothing.
Noone has ever proven the bible false... I have seen people getting healed right in front of my eyes by prayer and faith. Man if you don't got God you have got nothing. Who here has seen a miracle happen... I have. It was by a faith healer!

If I tried to argue with you, with no evidence might I add, that lawn gnomes rape pink flamingos at night, would you be willing to change your opinion on it? Of course not.

There are people who say that their cat talks to them in a human voice. You and I would both agree that they are delusional. That person could have been hallucinating, in a state of depression, or they could have had some kind of emotional need at the time. Dopamine, saratonin, and beta-endorphine are natural chemicals in your brain, and can work wonders with the right emotional triggers.

Theres millions of books written about fairy tales, and that doesn't make them true. Theres proof of America. There's pictures of it. There are satellites up in space that are viewing it as I type this. I'd call that proof enough for me.

Faith healers are just magicians. All of that is just set up. As far as the Bible not being proved wrong, are you freaking blind? Do you honestly believe that there was a flood that covered Mt. Everest? This has been scientifically falsified on numerous occasions. Or that man was made from dust? Our chemical compositions are nowhere near alike. Anybody who believes the bullshit in the Bible will believe in anything.

    Is god imaginary?

An ignorant generalization based on... absolutely nothing.
Not that I'd expect anything else I suppose.
No, I don't believe it covered Everest. And any such scientific test on the matter would be grounded on assumptions about conditions thousands of years ago. If that's what you call proof, then you could no doubt be led to believe practically any conclusion.
That's hardly the impressive part. The creation of the dust out of nothing is what's impressive.
Assuming such is possible, I don't believe man was literally created from dust.
Anyone who doesn't believe in the Bible is fat and ugly.
The statement is no less intelligent.

    Is god imaginary?

In my year group at school there are 210 students. There are 7 class of 30 students. About 35 of the students are christains. There is a extension class which I am in... 30 of the students are in the extension class, about 25 of them are christains. That leaves us with about 10 christains... Those 10 christians are spread in the remaining 6 classes. Ill cut to the point... God has blessed the christains by putting most of them in the extension class.

    Is god imaginary?

More like a logical generalization based on the faith healers that I have seen and the fact that they have all been frauds.

The Bible said that it covered the highest mountains, and the scientific evidence against it was referring to the actual flood, not that it covered the highest mountains. If all that water was present, where did it go? Read this article for a better look at all the stupidity of the flood myth.

I was trying to focus on things that humans can actually comprehend to a certain extend. We know that nothing cannot come out of something, i.e. conservation of mass, but the Bible said that it was created. We can't really dispute that very well since the only way to completely prove that it didn't happen was to either go back in time and view it, or finally come up with a scientific explanation for it. The point of that section was to point out ignorance. So you don't believe what the Bible says? For the record what are your beliefs?

I would call myself a very convincing person if I could get someone to believe that lawn gnomes rape pink flamingos at night, but I don't think I could ever convince someone who believed otherwise that man was created out of dust.

dpunk, you're wasting your time attempting to have an intelligent religious debate with a bunch of ignorant gullible Christians. Scientific facts is irrelevant to them, because they are primitive and can't think rationally or use logical sense.

This quote makes a lot of sense to me:
Now, if I compared you (dpunk) with this guy:
Then I'm pretty sure we would both agree on you being a lot more mentally developed than him. Obviously he doesn't know shit about atoms and evolution, so he just jumps to the conclusion that some divine forces created it, all because he is incapable of comprehending basic science.

Trying to educate them on these subjects is a pointless waste of time, unless if you get paid for it. :D

Personal Jesus, few truer words were ever spoken it seems...

He explains that prayer has absolutely no effect on anything, and the reasoning behind it is that God is not existent.

    Is god imaginary?

We won't know until we die if God is imaginary. Right now all we can do is sort of guess or try to go upon the so called "evidence" we have.

Wow, so many topics about "Is God Real?" And all that BS.

Yes he is. How would the world be created anyway? Just from something called "the big bang?" Or a coincidence? Not likely. There is a superior being out there somewhere, and I believe it's God.
