Jagex and RuneScape Forums.

Okay, I've got a question that will stump everyone, I'm no wondering because I might make a forum like it, but I just want to know, or has Jagex made their 'own' special forums to link with their game when people register? I just want to know how did Jagex get the RuneScape Official Forums and What type is the Forum called? Possibly, how can I get a copy of it?

They use a type of their own script called "Runescript" that, unless you know the codes and such, is undecipherable and hence you will never be able to make their forum unless you yourself are a member of Jagex. Kthx.

 

Its called getting professionals to make you a forum.

Its not vB or phpbb or anything like that.

 

I guess. I think they'd make millions out of their forum, it's so simple to use.

U wont get it exactly like it but u can get it close with like invasion free if u have the right scripts

 

Yeah I got close to it but when you click a thread the Reply button then there's a Create a Thread button right next to it. Anyway, no matter I want this thread closed for discussion.

 

It's called server side programming, learn it. Honestly i hate when people try to get a free forum host, learn Php or something and make your own.

 

I've made my own domain and everything, but I forget how to do things, please don't harass or flame me, I'm only new, people got to learn someday, give them the chance.

There's not anything called RuneScript.

 

I think he might of just used that as an example.

 

As with most professional businesses they program everything themselves to remove the possibilities of vulnerabilities and security holes that are easily spread when everyone is using the same software. They remove this possibility and lower the chances of being hacked. You could easily program your own version and make it look and function exactly like their forums in PHP.

If you're a beginner like you say you're better off sticking with vB, Invision, phpBB, and other forum software that is produced by professionals or a community of skilled developers. Security is everything and if you have your hosting hacked you're not going to be a very happy person. It's one thing to know how to program, it's another to know how to make it run securely and efficiently.

 

We're not harassing you, we're telling you the truth. They made it from scratch, they programmed it themselves. That's how you get one like that. A domain has nothing to do with it.

 

If we were flaming or harassing we'd surely be using swear words every other word in all capitals and calling you names. We're not doing that, we're answering your questions to the best of our abilities. Though some may sound harsh when they give their answers, most are only frustrated from having answered the exact same question or similar questions multiple times on these forums.

 

You have 14 posts, and you're talking about frustration, no. I can assure you, this might be about the second or third time something of this matter has ever been asked. It's not that they are, it's just, some people are rude, and some people think they should be able to be rude to others because they may know more or have been here longer. Wrong in both cases.

 

I wasn't talking about myself, I was talking about others and I understand what you mean by some people just being rude.

 

Its actually pretty simple to clone their forum, you just need to note every feature of its posts, threads, and such.
