Been really into ska and roots here lately, putting some feelers out to see if we have any other fans.

Well I hope you may of liked some of it? I was ska-wimming all day after work, well into the night floating around listening to the paragons and trojan calypso comps.

Goddamn lord Invader was crazy, kinda odd you dont hear this stuff noted for its obvious influence on later genres.

 

Getting really into later Skatalites, their style really changed over time. Took a jazzy turn, really dig it.

Honestly I feel most third wave is more punk and pop punk oriented than true ska but im certainly still down, that stuff was the shit when I was in junior high and highschool very influential for me early on lol. I remember hearing Reel ******** in Baseketball and Suicide Machines in the Disney movie Brink lol. I've seen jake, catch 22, RBF, streetlight, aquabats and LOC live.

Altho to be honest most of their stuff really isn't ska, heh.

 

I need to get around to seeing them as well, heard they put on an excellent show. I can only imagine its like a kid friendly gwar experience. My favorite 3rd wave band is probably Big D and The Kids Table, followed by Aquabats and suicide machines (do they count?).

I love The Selecter, not the biggest bosstones fan.

Prince Buster died yesterday. Easily one of the biggest names in ska and og reggae. Devastating loss. 78 years old.

 

Huge fan of the Bosstones, Goldfinger, NOFX, Streetlight Manifesto, Five Iron Frenzy, and a lot of others. I have a playlist on my spotify called Ska and Shit. lol
