Prepaid Paypal Card

hey doe's anyone know how a prepaid paypal card work, and if there is anyway they can chargeback?

 

Based on my short amount of research, the way the Prepaid PayPal card works is the same as a debit card. It is created through Bancorp Bank and you have a variable amount of locations you can reload your card that will reflect on to your paypal account if you decide to link it through that. Imagine it as the debit cards you can buy at Walmart, it's basically the same result. As far as chargebacks go, it still depends on the route you take to make a transaction.

Well, just to clarify, who is "they", and are "they" using the prepaid card or are you?

 

Hes quite obviously wanting to receive payment from a prepaid card that a customer is using, hes just curious if the person he is selling to can chargeback.

 

I'm gonna take a wild whack and say it is the same security as any other regular debit card. Considering the company that manages all the prepaid card accounts is a separate entity from Paypal itself. So yes, it still could be marked as unauthorized and likely cause a chargeback. So my advice @Mentarley is to be wary of accepting it, or ask that your buyer sends the money through family and friends option. Family and Friends is an option that is much less likely to cause a chargeback.

 

Are you talking about the prepaid mastercard card Paypal has or a Paypal Mycash prepaid card?

 

I just give someone who has a credit card cash and tell them to send me that amount on PayPal CBF dealing with my own card sometimes, I like seeing the exact amount I have on screen. Idk, maybe I am weird haha.

 

If you're referring to the prepaid PayPal MyCash card then no, they can't charge back the payment for any reason.
