VPN with Torrenting?

Hey all
I've been away from the tech scene for some time so I don't really know the best VPN to use to keep my anonymity as best I can.
I understand a quick Google would probably steer me in the best direction however I'm interested to hear your thoughts.

 

Betternet for Windows works well for me.

Any VPN that allows P2P file sharing + has fast enough speeds.

Personally I use IPvanish

 

I use private internet access. They only cost like 40 bucks a year and give you a proxy as well. I've had some stability issues but they are super cheap, keep no logs, and give you that proxy for free so I think they are a good choice. They have an official Windows Client that uses OpenVPN under the hood and they provide config files for the OpenVPN gui so they will work on any platform.

 

Cheers for that mate, had a look at IPvanish. Does have good features but the price is a little high for what for what I want to pay.

Yea I'm gonna give these guys a shot, also one of the few decent ones who supply linux support.

 

only real vpn for me is TOR... every free ones collects all data you recive/send and youre in bigger risk to get caught than without vpn.

Back in the day I got offshore VPN hosting from people from forums, they worked great, but haven't been back there for a long time. Look into your legal problems for your country and see which VPN wouldn't participate that easily in sharing information with your government forinstance.

I was tossing up between TorGuard and PrivateInternetAccess, both keep no logs (supposedly), but i went with PIA for the price factor.

 

Nice. Their custom client is super easy to use but I've found just using OpenVPN directly is more stable for whatever reason.

 

Unfortunately I can't use their client thanks to having an encrypted HDD, so I just load their server VPN settings with OpenVPN

 

Was it easy to setup? I remember when I first got this VPN... years ago now... they literally had no instructions for anything other than windows using their client so I haven't bothered to set it up on my Linux box.

 

I use VirMach, but I don't use VPNs. We'll probably offer those soon as well. In the meantime, proxies are much better IMO because you can use it on specific applications versus your entire connection. Plus it's easier, just plug in the details to the "Connection" settings on your torrent application.

So you could torrent with the proxy while you play games and do other stuff unmasked.

 

PIA gives you a proxy for free if you get their VPN.

 

It all runs on the same server. You could theoretically have an HTTP proxy + SOCKS proxy + VPN with us at the same time. We just don't technically have VPN pre-installed as an option at this time.
