Why are you buying XP pro?
Vista > XP IMIO (in my informed opinion)

BTW, X Zero, get the propoganda out of your sig (or link to facts that prove what you claim).

I think its far too buggy for a full release. My friend has it and he can't even play some of his old games or use any programs that he likes on it because a lot of them aren't compatible yet. Also, with the celeron D proecessor he's getting, it will run kind of slow because of all the aero crap. That's another thing, Celeron D is crap ;X - go with a intel core 2 duo.

Wait until a service pack (or 2) comes out for Vista, then if you want it, buy it. Right now, I would go with Windows XP Professional or Ubuntu 7.04 if you're looking to buy a new computer.

You can still run 32 bit stuff on 64 bit.

i was answering all the posts at once so i dont get in trouble for triple posting. i want to buy a 42" lcd hdtv that they have at sale at frys.com for only $900. it has the pc input in the back so it works at a moniter... all i have to do is pull my desk back from the wall so i can see it all...

and 1337 byte i was thinking on 32bit devices. i dont really have much experiance with 64bit os's...

I think vista sucks, a min of 512mb ram to use it? For what a pretty toolbar and voice activation for things. XP home does everything I'd ever want it too.
