WWII - why Germany lost

Germany lost because they had to fight a war on two fronts, Russia and France/west Europe. Also, just like Napolean, they chased the Russians up farther and farther into their country and when winter rolled around they all froze and were forced to retreat. The U.S also got involved too and then it was just all downhill for the Germans from there.

Mein Kampf is an interesting read. It does outline his plan to restore Germany to its former greatness by destroying the Jews. A reasonable person who read it, not knowing who wrote it, would probably say that Hitler had some odd ideas.

 

1. War on two fronts - Russia and France
2. Hitler hardly ever listened to his military strategist who were experts in warfare. He was paranoid, therefore he believed his generals would gain too much fame and plot to overtake him. He often killed them if they suggested something that didn't go with his plan.
3. The D-Day Invasion- The allies use a spy to trick Germany. The spy made the Germans believe that the allies will have a huge invasion somewhere north of Normandy. Therefore Germany almost planted most of their troops there and when they got attacked by thousands of allies in Normandy they were ill prepared.

 

To me its like this

1. Their generals screwed up, the german troops were everywhere, africa, russia, britain, and italy all at once

2. They did not support Italy well enough when the italians were invaded.

3. Everything they did in Africa was a mistake, and then when they were defeated there it was a needless loss of life.

As to whether Hitler was crazy or not? I think he was a psychopath/sociopath, because he could think rationally.

actually, he used the jews as a scapegoat to get himself into power

he blamed the jews for the current social standing that germany had after WW1, the signing of the treaty of Versailles, was done by ambassadors of germany who just so happened to be jewish. this was one of hitler's most powerful standings against the jews.
he didn't kill them Because of their religion, but because the HAD that religion. he [as far as evidence supports] had nothing against the jewish religion itself

Germany invaded Soviet Russia, and fighting Soviets in the Soviet winter is not a good idea.

 

I have to agree, Operation Barbarosa was the stupidest idea ever. I mean how smart is it to send your troops to one of the coldest places in the world without parkas?

But wouldn't the breaking of the Enigma also have something to do with it?

I also agree that the failure to take out Britain was a majour player

 

I think Hitler was a great man but the biggest mistake was that he couldnt control all Germany.. But killing jews was fun.. Like on Borat song "Throw the jew down the well, and my country will be free"

His biggest mistake (If I say so my self) was attacking the "U.S.S.R." which literally crumbled his army.

What did he do which makes him so great? He killed over 6 million innocent people and you call that great?

I totally agree with you Internet. I have a friend who thinks Hitler was great. I really can't understand why. I do agree that he was a great speaker. He had a lot of charisma. But he was a crazy sunuvabitch

no germony lost becasue they desided to also try to take on the soviot union lol up until then they where winning

 

reasons:

1) attacking russia was severly stupid. He did have a chance to take over it but he gave the russians time to dig in while the supply lines caught up with his troops. he couldnt get past their defences later so he pulled back, allowing the russians to regroup and attack wisely and carefully.
2) getting mexico involved in this. since that was intercepted by the british, the americans had a pretty good reason to get involved in this. Also the bombing of pearl harbor was a pretty smart attack but it shouldve been saved for later when germany and japan are both ready to attack america when Europe fell.
3) Not finishing up england while they were in trouble since about 400,000 of their troops were stuck on the french coast with no supplies and back up. with those troops dead, germany wouldve had an easy time taking over england and setting its sights on the USA

 

i just wanna let some of you guys who arent to familiar with history a little about hitler, did you know hitler had better mental qualities than most of our greatest U.S. presidents and leaders? heres an example, hitler took care of his wife, he loved her with a passion, he actually cared about people and he WAS NOT crazy he was in his right mind,as for the U.S. we had presidents who would drink their lifes away, we had a president who would beat his wife, and im sure their were more but im not going into detail it was just a little fact.
