yea blank decks are cheap and affective

 

If you have a local skate park see if they make boards. Mine did for a while and they were cheap and really nice boards. other wise id just go for a blank board.

 

my advice - buy a cheap deck from the local walmart / whatever, then use it till its destroyed. then get a slightly more expensive one and repeat. Keep doing this till your able to pull of neat tricks with a crap deck then go buy something decent. You'll then have enough real contrl and skills to truely use all that a good deck gives cause yuor basics will have to be fucking ninja from using the cheapass peice of craps you've owned befroe.

Plus if you get bored of skateboards before you get that good yuo won't have wasted a ton of cash.
