Could someone explain how I got hacked?

Someone has logged into my account and taken all of my cash about 60m to be exact. I have no one knows my password. Also I virus scanned and nothing was found. I did buy the account, but the password wasn't changed. I'm so pissed.

 

Did you buy the account from a trusted member? If not it looks like you answered the question yourself

 

I would guess you might have clicked on some twitch phishing link that looked like a double exp jagex video, a lot of people have fallen for that and if you did the outcome would be exactly as you described

 

Password wasn't changed, even if he bought the account they wouldn't know the password.

 

Possibly a dox?

 

Dox's only get your personal info i think, like name/location/phone #/etc, he was probably keylogged

 

Most likely a fake jagex link. But if it wasn't that it might have been that you use the same email/password everywhere. Specially if you have use it on a private server. Their databases get leaked pretty often

You either got keylogged or got phished on twitch I would imagine based off the information.

 

Keylogger/RAT/Virus. I know a good amount about computers, willing to take a look at your computer via teamviewer or skype screenshare. If it is a RAT (Remote access tool) you will most likely not see it on an antivirus. Pm if you need anything and goodluck!

 

RAT is remote acess trojan btw i have no idea why i wrote tool. lol xD

 

There is a guy on twitch that does many phishing livestreams of many livestreamers / runescape, just beware of what you click on, that would be my guess for why you got hacked.

 

This happened to my friend as well and he didn't click any phishing links... very sketchy.
