I might be wrong but i think it is a CPU cooling problem... because if your CPU gets to hot it shutsdown to protect itself against overheating. So what you could do is check out if your CPU cooler is working allright or you can go into the bios and check the CPU temp.

Just buy a new CPU fan or clean it if you don't know how to do it i suggest you go to a computer shop... they can do it for cheap.

hey man normally this would happen if your fan is to dusty and it clogged up just take tower cover off and use a vaccum or blower to get rid of the dust and your all set your computer should work fine

my sister laptop shuts off once in a awhile because it overheats your luck it runs for an hour and a few minutes

Like someone said up a couple posts, the computer has an auto shutdown mechanism to keep it from getting too hot. Maybe try to cool it off somehow?

Well it could be a few things

first make sure the RAM is in tight. Then take out the CPU and then put it back in.

    It could be a virus.

If it still shutsdown after that then you probable have a defective motherboard or hard drive.
