Thoughts on how Jagex catch RL Traders.

my theory is they can't catch you. Just try to make people scared and stop real world trading... Never banned for that rule and never heard anybody being banned for that. (exept rs2pleasent, bet his name trapped hisself :s)

You will hopefully by now have read the front page post lovingly written by Andrew regarding macro accounts and real world item traders (if you'd like to make a comment, whisk yourself on over to QFC 7-8-225-43302266 and be heard!).

In the forum post I also mentioned that I'd be sending you a message to let you know how you guys can further help the good fight. Well, yes, this is that message!

Ok, to do this we're going to make a couple of changes. I know how much you all like a bit of change so read on....

The first change is to surgeries. The plan is to cut the time surgeries take from one hour to half an hour as of next week. The aim is to make surgeries a bit more efficient and make the most of the time we have whilst there. Unfortunately this will inevitably mean that we won’t have so much time for chatting, hitting each other with rubber chickens and welcoming new arrivals to surgery in between questions. We are really quite fond of that though and so aside from team based meetings, we’ll be holding weekly get togethers to ensure that you still have the opportunity to beat Howes with your chicken, shout ‘meep’ at Conor and generally hassle Marvin in any way you see fit.

So what are we going to do with the hour and a half hour we’ll save? Close more reports? Answer more tickets? Make even more coffee? Tell Hohbein to shut up an extra twenty times? Nope, as you've probably guessed, we’re going to spend our time even more wisely than that!

As you've already read, we'd like to spend more time dealing with the auto training macro bots in RuneScape. Our ICU team are very effective at removing macro operated accounts but we appreciate that some of you find the time it takes to remove these anti-social scallywags a little frustrating. That’s why we’re going into bot busting mode! Yep, you’ll be able to get in touch with us to alert us to the presence of bots at the magic trees, afk-ers behind Varrock castle and any other in-human macro activity going on in the community. Sound good? Course it does!

The details still need to be ironed out but essentially, via a live help thread you’ll tell us the location and world of macro families so that we can zap ourselves straight over to you, check the accounts with our back-end tools and take them out in real time. You’ll then have the pleasure of watching these accounts disappear before your very eyes!

This will help us to send a clear visual message to the surrounding players and to the herberts who create these accounts and will also hopefully lower your blood pressure levels a little bit!

There will be an article in this week’s news detailing a few more hows? and whens? and as ever, we're keen for you to give us your thoughts. So, whoop for joy, persuade a J-mod to make me a coffee and hey, why not have a bit of cake? After all, everybody loves a bit of cake, except bots of course.

BamBam, your methodes is also cool. your example in that area is good, but we can also use different place (like al-kharid, scorps.) it's nearby lumbri :d

 

I dont think jagex does very good at catching RL item traders.
If you buy under 10M then your good.
They dont watch EVERYBODYS trades.
Its impossible.
They cant tell how long people have been on your
friends list either.
I dont know how they catch people.
But i know they have never caught me.

 

im thinking jagex just tracks unbalanced trades. Like you giving 20m for like a rune or something.

just for doin small trades of 1 mil, 1 mil 1 mil then 2 mil then 2 mil

i just dont think that there is any possible way for jagex to tell if your purchasing mils i think they are completely bluffing about the 2000 bans


why doesn't jaqex just open a shop that we can send in 5 buck from credit card or send in cash ans we get on our guy and jagex puts (example) 10m on your account because you sent in 50 bucks

they would make millions

 

Its common sense on how they catch u. If you just trade 20m to someone its obvious. And if you do a bunch of small trades like 1m its even more obvious since your doing all these trades. I do believe they actually ban that many people but thats because they are stupid.

Ok you best bet to be undetected is get something that changes your IP address. This way if you do get caught you can always use your real IP address. Also my theory is that Jagex mods are the actual sellers of the gold. I mean seriously why would they buy the gold and waster their money when they could sell it to fools out there. I mean come on they can generate the gp anytime they want. BAM! instant 20m to sell and catch a IRL trader. I believe they do this alot. So all you IRL traders....especially buyers watch yourselves.

 

i dont think so cuase they say that they only ban players with undeinable evidance (whatever that is) so i think like when they say: come pick up ur 20mil, ok coming, :accepts 20m free

 

That would go along with my theory. They tell them to come get their cash and then when trade is successful they report or whatever and ban. Simple and quick.

 

just to tell you this, just do a duel and purposly lose/win (depends) or if f2p, go wilderness and purposely kill/die (depends)
