2016-2017 NBA Discussion Thread

The Cleveland Cavaliers are the 2016 NBA champions. This will be a very interesting off-season. Share your thoughts here on the new season and things to come.

 

1st trade of the off season:

Teague -> Pacers
George Hill -> Jazz
#12 pick Tomorrow -> Hawks

It's an intereresting trade, great move by the Hawks. Looks like Schroeder is their guy now.

 

Teague and George Hill are interchangeable players. Teague drives more and Hill shoots the 3 ball better. Weird trade. I'd say the hawks are the winners here.

 

Derrick Rose traded to the Knicks! Wow man this is gonna be a fun off season.

 

I got excited because I always get excited when superstars get traded to different teams. Then I remembered he isn't one anymore. What do you guys think Kevin Durant is going to do?

Hey man he's still only 27.

I would love for Kd to head to San Antonio, but I think he is going to stay in Oklahoma City. They were so close to something huge and I just don't see how he could just leave that.

 

If KD goes to a 73 win team, I will lose all respect for him.

 

Doesn't KD want to go to the Wizards?

If Knicks can land Pau Gasol or Dwight, that could be something in the making.

 

There are multiple reports that say he isn't interested in Washington.

Dwight is a cancer and Pau is a stationary player who is getting older. The Knicks have always chased the players who's careers are nearing their end. I never liked the franchise because of this. It pains me to say this being a NY native.

 

Age doesn't define a player. DRose has been on the decline and that's just a fact.

KD is a mystery tbh. I keep hearing rumors that he's coming over to Miami, but I would hate to see that happen. The only reason is purely selfish since I love Dwyane Wade and don't want to accept the fact that he's getting old and the team can't rely on him anymore. With KD the team would be centered around him and less around Wade, and just watching that transition happen would be so depressing.

Its sad but I don't think its possible for him to ever get back to where he was before. He is probably so scared of getting injured now and that itself will always make his game suffer because he will never have the same desire to explode.

 

Haven't really heard any trade rumours involving the Raptors. Anyone hear anything about them?

 

Ibaka to Orlando for Sabonis/Oladipo/Ilyasova.

Thunder won this trade, but Ibaka's presence will definitely be missed.

 

Looks like Steven Adams impressed them in the playoffs.

 

That and Ibaka regressed. Turned into a Kevin Love, no longer a low post threat like he used to be.

 

Happy Lebron brought one to Cleveland but being a pistons fan I'm ready for Detroit to get back in the game.

 

If you haven't heard already, they're looking to acquire Nerlens Noel for Terrance Ross and more, probably a second rounder, but the 76ers would never agree to that.

 

Meh I don't really care. Terrance Ross did nothing for them in the playoffs. Didn't they already draft another big man though? I wonder why they need so many bigs that can't shoot lol.
