Popup Ads

Yesterday i set my computer ready to auto for runescape, it did about 5-6 loads of iron, then the unexpected. a pop up..

Now, i have NEVER had pop ups on any of my computers, now i got a little confused.

well, i clicked OK now theres a new pop up same looking just different texts and stuff.
Well, i thought hmm, these pop ups has to come from some where, so i pulled my internet plug, and clicked OK, and again a new window pops up.

Then i did a scan with Ad-Aware got 18 results, deleted them, tried again, same thing, still pop ups.

i went googling, found out that microsoft had a fix for the popups, so im right now updating my Windows XP to SP2.

You think SP2 will fix these kinds of pop ups?
Should i get any software.

Please, feel free to say anything.

 

You have a viris it will make pop ups when ur offline to...

 

yeah i noticed that, could u recommed what anti virus ur using?

 

well if you want to buy and antivirus get norton internet security 2007, something like 50 usd. if not try to find panda antivirus or something like that. Also try adaware, you can find it from www.lavasoft.com. Its very good free program that finds spy programs and some viruses. also try to get pop up blockers, and SP2 works great for me, it asks if you want to block pop up or allow it.

 

if u would have read my WHOLE post u would have noticed that i already have ad-aware.

Got rid of the pop ups, with SP2, ty anyways. Im just gonna do a virus scan now. ty anyway

 

hmm..i read your post but i think i read it wrong. I was so sure i read you used a adaware program , but ah well.
