Well i was just looking around some threads (and sorry to use your name for this example ) but i saw nick (Daily500) doing a MM application.

I'm sorry but what is the point on that? He is global mod here and must be trusthworthly to get the position in the first place. All staff that go to do MM applications always get through it the fastest, mainly because of the fact they are trust and respected.

So why on earth would you put them through the boring/time consuming task of doing an MM application. Wasting their time on pointless applications (pointless to staff anyways) when they could be doing more work around sythe..

Seems like a stupid idea.. anyone else agree??


EDIT: I mean if steph doesn't trust them to do MMing (because they need to do a MM application) yet she trusts them to be mods of sythe?? Where is the logic??

 

Haha good point I guess they just don't wanna make it look like they get special treatment even if they do x)
And I think more people would trust a MOD over an MM....
It could also be so they can get experience in MMing.

in one of the post i think it says even though the mods are mods they still have to go though the proccess and i agree with it as much as it being fair that they get the same treatment but it stupid becuase there already respected...

To make what fair? They earned their position as a Mod, which has much stricter requirements than a MM. It's also unfair to other applying MM's, because Mods will obviously get the majority of the MM's. I really do agree, if a Global Mod wants to become an Official MM, then make him an Official MM.

 

Well,i guess having modship and MM in one isn't bad since some members prefer MMs only

I would have been done by now if I took every MM I was offered (200+). I only take the MM's that I'm going to make a decent amount of cash on..I've only done a couple pin trades, etc.

 

It's not necessarily a matter of trust. Just because someone is a mod doesn't mean that they know how to MM well.

 

I would think [sometimes my thoughts are wrong ^_^] that if they were smart/1337 enough to get mod they would know almost everything about Sythe, but you have a point.

 

I can agree, to get staff position you need to be trust worthy.

 

Locking a topic, or scamming 75M, yeah, that is a hard one to pick. Anyone can be chosen for mod, honestly it's hard to abuse it, unless you just go around and ban everyone. Being a mod doesn't show trust that much, shows you can do a job well, or that you earned it, but not that you are a very trusted person. If they want to MM, like you said, they get MMs so fast, well, if they get them so fast, then it shouldn't be a problem for them to do an app. Not saying globals or sections aren't or shouldn't be trusted, but trust really isn't a big thing to pick a mod, as there's really no way to see it in a regular user. MMs, that is basically the number one thing they must have.

 

You would be complaining if they didn't have to do an app as well.

 

I'm sorry but a disagree. I think when choosing a Mod, trust is almost the number 1 issue. I mean, having that status gives you power, and many players can and will abuse it. It's also just a fact that you are instantly MUCH more trusted than a regular user with an Admin status. To be honest, I'd trust a Global Mod more than an official MM. I mean what does an Official MM really have to do? He handles 12M+ trades 5 times, and has a good reputation. I've handled 500M+ trades, and I have no status at all. So to me personally, I don't think Official MM is that meaningful.

 

Just one more thing, if you don't like sythe why are you even here.

 

Bottom line is trust is earnt. That being said i slightly disagree with you, moderating and MMing are very different. Yes a moderator is promoted but they are promoted with trust from staff in that they will do they right thing as a moderator. Official Mms are accepted and voted on based on the firm belief that they are trustworthy in being an mm.
