A noobish question

Hey guys, i hear the phrase "main" everywhere so what i wanna ask is what is a main pk account?
what is its stats, what is its play style

 

Main pking typically involves either dhing, bridding, or fighting with a clan in deep wild with maxed or near-maxed combat stats.

 

what would be the beginning stats for a main pk meaning at what stats can one pk is 60/60/60 optimal? with over 40 prayer and 50 magic? and what would that kind of character wear? for no risk pks

 

An account with 60/60/60 stats would be completely outclassed by basically any other build of a similar combat level. The combat bracket for mains doesn't start until around ~110+. Also, main pking and no risk don't really go together - most people who main pk do so because they know that the loot is guaranteed to be somewhat decent. If you're looking for a build that performs well in pvp with minimal risk, I would recommend making a voider.

What meteor said, a voider or even a low lvl tank ranger being 40 def 70 range, d hide is quite cheap and you'll do well against pures with the defence. Then when you get time it's a simple task of getting the void

 

but what is a void

 

Void is basically that build, except you need do pest control to get void armour set taking 10-15 hours, requires 42 defence instead of 40. You'd be a ranger using that gear, if you died you can run back and pick up your armour.

k i did it says u need 45 def for void but if i have 50 would that ruin my chances of becoming void? and after doing the pest control will i be able to buy that gear from ge or any npc? aaand voids use 2hs to ko too right? like 2h range pures?

 

Void actually requires 42 defence to use and is only buyable with points from an npc at the Pest Control minigame. Having a higher defence level isn't optimal as it gives you unnecessary combat levels. Void rangers will also typically use a crossbow with dragon (e) bolts, a dark bow, or a ballista (new ranged weapon) to ko, but I have seen some people use a melee helm switch with a gmaul before too.

 

well would the unnecessary cb levels ruin it for me ? make it harder

 

Depending on what your other stats are, I would recommend making a new account. The most time consuming part of making a voider that you can start pking on is obtaining the void itself, so if you haven't made any progress on that yet, you won't really be losing out on much by starting over.

 

it takes ages to get 40 atk and 70 str/range
how is it that getting void is harder u said it can be done in 12 hours

At the lower levels, it would probably be better to stick with just using ranged, so there's no real need to get your strength higher than 42 right away. 70 range will also take far less time than getting full void (not sure where you got 12 hours from, I think it's even longer on the novice boat). Of course it's ultimately up to you to determine if it would be worth starting over, but I don't think that you would be losing that much to justify not trying to optimize a pvp based build.

 

aight got it, how long would it take to get 70 range and does void need atk besides str?

 

Void requires level 42 in all combat stats as well as 22 prayer, but these can be easily quested or trained up. I also don't recall 70 ranged taking me longer than a few hours, but I also used the most expensive methods (cannon -> chinning as soon as I could). Depending on how much money you have to work with it could take longer.

right now i have 70 atk 70 str 70 def which account should i turn this into? to get into pking asap??
