With all the geopolitical uncertainty as well as the looming July Greek debt payment which could threaten their EU membership if not paid, Bitcoin could perhaps be entering a perfect storm (capital flight + diminished supply). Cyprus 2.0 anyone?

Going to look into litecoins also after this to see any fluctuation in its price.

Block halving in approximately 28 days

 

Man, it's too expensive at this point to buy into, making it a risky investment. I wish it would tank before the halving, or for some reason afterwards (but I doubt there would be any reason for that), so I could buy some. Going to be interesting seeing the results. It seems like it's going to continue rising.

 

I got most of my coins between 250 and 500 so I'm not overly concerned with whatever happens it'll be interesting to see though.

In my humble opinion, the combination of macro risks this year give BTC an excellent chance to overcome its ATH a couple years ago. Increased adoption (check). Extremely liquid (check). Economic uncertainty in the global markets (check). China... (check). Unstable fiat monetary policies (check). Oh and, take this last tip with a grain of salt, but the stock market is in for a steep, steep correction in the near term (most likely not before the elections finish though). It's highly unlikely that you'll see the wilshire surpass 23k before the crash.

You're in excellent positition for the foreseeable future. Short of a government sponsered 51% (which would be extremely difficult to pull off undectected) or making it illegal, your invesments in crypto are safe.

 

I regret not sticking with btc when it was still new. I mined 3-4 btc at least back when it was new, and had only invested minimal time and effort into it..... Had I actually stuck with it... The possibilities.

 

I sold off like 20 bitcoin in the past month, now I see it hit $700 and I'm crying irl :'(

 

Current Bitcoin Price: $765. For those that haven't got funds to get into BTC for this rally should highly consider ETH as an alternative. Just a couple weeks ago, it was $12 to $14. Today, it's sitting at $20+.

 

Someone I sold GP to told me about Ethereum like 2 months ago, and it was ~$10 each maybe it's worth looking into after all

That's a result of the 1 mb cap, the halving only affects the reward amount for mining.

 

The DAO got hacked this morning and lost $50 million which led it to crash back down to $14 this morning. However, from what I understand, most likely the thief will not be walking away with the money so the crash was more like a knee jerk reaction. Is this the perfect time to invest while it is at a low?

 

I've been shorting the way down, and I believe it may still have a ways to go before it returns to a stable uptrend. Plus, not only that, after the dust settles, there is talk that Vitalik and crew may hardfork Ethereum in order to prevent the funds from being distributed from the hack (approximtely 3 - 4M ether, which is absolutely huge, approximately 3 - 5% of the total supply) and the DAO will be liquidated at its ICO price of 100 DAO -> 1 ETH.

The current market looks like a strong bull trap.. I see it dropping to 0.016 - 0.015 BTC which is around $10 - $11 if it can't hold support at 0.01929. And once the DAO split happens (liquidation), a TON of ETH will hit the market by folks trying to recoup their losses.

It's been a slaughterhouse on the Poloniex chatbox, haha.

(Besides, I think BTC hasn't hit its pre-halving ceiling yet.)
