The Clash or The Ramones?

Two great punk bands based in 70s and 80s, which one do you think is better? I think The Clash is.

Ive seen conflict live...I wish i could have seen Crass live also...to bad there not a band anymore.. how could you not like clash nor the ramones they helped ignite punk itself if it werent for them you probly wouldn't have even heard of all the other new wave punk bands and all the old 80's hardcore bands.. I'm guessing your just following the "trend" alot of Hardcore Street punkers start hating on old school bands now..

I have to say The ramones, first fo all i've heard more songs from them and if i compare to the clash's songs i've heard The ramones is better.

 

That's pretty much the opposite of me. I have 40 something Clash songs in my library but only 20 Ramones songs. I personally love both of the bands, and they are two of my favourite bands, but I basically don't like the fact how alot of Ramones' songs sound alot the same and have the same style (3 chord wonders, no solos, etc etc) The Clash has a huge variety of genres like Punk, Jazz, some funk, and just basic rock, and Joe Strummer's guitaring is just plain amazing.

I like the ramones more just because I grew up on them. The Clash is still legendary though. And Damien why dont you just shut the fuck up, as much as you try hard to list punk bands because people like me, mitz and x0x0 flamed you for liking lame pop punk you are never going to be cool.
