    I needWindows ME 2000 volume help

    ok, my volume was workign fine 2nights ago but now it doesnt work at all.I have the volume controller but i get and error that says "there are no active mixer devices available you may install mixer devices at add/remove hardware" "this application will now exit"
    My stereo things are hooked up and all,but it just keeps showing up. I did a virus scan and everything. Someone please tell me the problem my parents are ready to throw this computer out..

    Oh! This happened to me. I took a disk that had all sorts of .cab files on it and went into add hardware and added the drivers like that. However, what you can do is probably take the sound card out and put it back in :\.

    I needWindows ME 2000 volume help

    I used to have a problem with the volume just randomly stopping when I used windows ME. This might not work for you, but here is how I fixed it:

    Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Entertainment -> Volume Control

    Then find advanced or something, then check (or uncheck, can't remember) "digital output only" or something like that. Sorry I can't be more specific, but I did away with ME a long time ago.

    nope sorry those things dont work...it says i dont have a active mixer deivice..
