Goals are vastly important to long term growth and progress, regardless of the field. (i.e. Financial life, relationships, sports, health, etc) A mentor of mine once told me that not having a goal is like shooting an arrow at a target while you're blind folded. So many people get sucked into the day to day grind, that they forget the big picture, they forget to set a standard to living and a goal to their plan. Personally, I do a lot of journaling and goal setting myself. I start off every new year with writing down new goals for the next 1, 5 & 10 years. It's interesting to watch the goals morph and grow along the way, but it's also amazing to see how many things get crossed off the list. Just the act of writing your goals down for the year, causes a somewhat mystical affect and it's like the universe parts and helps you obtain those goals just by speaking them into existence. Don't believe me? Try it. A few of my goals for this year are: -Get to 200lbs by Dec -Break a 7 figure income this year -Pay cash for an SLS -Buy two investment properties -Get a third business going -Grow my relationship with my girlfriend to another level of intimacy. What are you guys' goals? These could be, short term, long term, doesn't matter. I just want to hear them!
My goals this and next year includes: Quitting smoking for good (3 days in). Doing well on my SAT test. Getting accepted into a reputable college. Reaching advanced language proficiency in Korean. Learning a fourth language. Good luck achieving your goals. Hopefully you'll fulfill them.
Those are amazing goals man, especially the smoking one. I used to smoke a pack and a half a day, quit almost four years ago. One of the best decisions I ever made.
Never really thought about it that way, but just the thought of writing down my goals seems to have a positive feeling. Here are a few short-term goals: -Get an A in my Orgo II summer class -Quit smoking (already almost there. used to smoke a pack a day and now I'm down to 3-4 a day. only problem is when i get drunk i chain smoke and can finish a pack in like an hour) -Find an online job so I can make some much needed and necessary money
YES! It get the correct brain power flowing, it's positive to think about your growth and improvement. Good luck on finishing the cigarette smoking, I believe you can do it man. It's one of the best decisions you will ever make. That's awesome man, what type of online position are you looking for?
I have no real goals set in stone but here are some minor small goals for the year: Continue working hard at my new career to hopefully grow my profile experience within the company. Frequent the gym to boost my self confidence and overall health. Enjoy the simple things in life and live in the moment. Most importantly of all catch at least one of every freshwater fish that resides in Ontario. This goal is dynamic in the sense that in order to do that I've had to travel, learn and make connections with others to have the knowledge and opportunity to catch these fish. Currently 18 species in since May 13th.
I feel like I'm the same way man. Grinding away at school and at work and I haven't really taken a step back to see where I TRULY want to be in 5-10 years.
That's a good place to start man. Best to figure out what you would need to accomplish in to be satisfied and pursue doing something aligned with your definite major purpose. Great book for you to read is Napoleon Hills: Think and grow rich. Those are awesome goals man. What company are you currently working with? Gym is a life changer man, trust me. That's a goal I have never heard before, definitely commendable! How many types of fish do you have left to catch? Haha, thanks brother. Should wrap them both up this year (or at least get close to 7 figures) if all goes as according to plan. A mentor told me when I was 18, have goals that make people uncomfortable when you speak them out loud. Followed that rule of thumb since then, found much success because of it. All limits are self imposed gentleman.
I have similar goals haha except I won't be breaking that income figure till after Med school unfortunately. I like your choice in cars I drive a Benz right now and it is head and shoulders above the competition.
-Get under 200lbs (Currently 210lbs from 340, but this goal will probably change once I hit 200 and realize I'm still a fat fuck, cause that's how I feel currently haha) -Quit smoking, down to 3-4 a day and vaping, I could easily quit and have done it in the past so I don't know why I don't. My brain's weird -Stop being so negative -Get the HEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLL out of my current job. This one I have no idea how to do but I gotta figure it out. EDIT: just realized a guy bumped a post from June and then deleted his post so now it looks like I did it. lol
