    Having a Flawless Purchase

    Hey guys,
not sure if this is the right place for this post, please direct me if not. I recently got into RS again and was looking to play OSRS.

A bit of backstory (skip if you'd like, kind of long-winded):
I first started playing when it was officially released in mid-2004. I played an account (thejinx0r) from the low 90s to low 120s. That account had 99 thieving second in the world, I was the second owner. The original owner quit and transferred it over. Me and a friend shared it, but I used it 99% of the time.
Any traces of that account on places like Sythe/Tip.It/RiD (he's the 2nd post by String Beans, 99 thieving cape, idk why the name changed but he gets quoted 1 post below as being thejinx0r... weird)/Zybez is from my friend. I remember the day farming came out and everyone was camping spawns for seed drops from Level 2 Men or whatever near Lumbridge... Hilarious times. I quit shortly after summoning came out, sometime late 2008/early 09. My friend took over and shared it with his brother, they began botting/RWT and ended up getting banned.
Account was recovered by someone, name changed to PersianGuido or something, I logged in once then (maybe around 2010?) to see that. That account lost 300M+ of items and the prestige of that stupid, beautiful purple thieving cape that I loved to wear around (although the original owner earned it, respects to him).
Anyhow, I randomly decided to check out OSRS after hearing they brought back the original game through my brother. I'm doing this for the nostalgia really. I had friends who lost family to cancer and had to console at Pest Control, to the first people I skyped over a videogame. I think RS was the entry to gaming most of us do nowadays and there's hella feelings attached to the things we all pixelhugged over (is that still an insult in this game? hahaha!)

    Currently:
My issue with having that account at that level then quitting and restarting is, I would hate to do the grind again. I just don't have the time to spend 4 hours a day with Dharoks at Monkeys with university and life. Maybe I will, but for now, I'm in the realm of purchasing a main in the 110s+. I'll do the quests for the nostalgia and play minigames, but the grind for combat stats puts me off. I'm heading to Montreal for the Formula 1 this weekend and will have a few days to think over what I will do, but I'd love to hear some advice from people as to how to make a possible purchase happen as smoothly as possible.

    Things I've noticed:
    - donate and get verified
    - prioritize vouched sellers
    - don't trust newcomers (the irony)
    - any purchased account can eventually be recovered

Does this community have any advice for me? Any trusted users to add to my list for a possible buy? I had a shit experience with PlayerAuctions the past week by buying an account at the same time as someone else, his order happened minutes before and he collected the account. Mine also went through and had to get a refund, they returned a portion of it and I'm waiting for the rest, so I'll skip on that site for account purchasing sadly. Thanks for taking the time to read all of this if you have, cheers. :)

Have you considered creating an account and paying people to skill on it for you? If you don't have the time that is the safest method rather than purchasing from someone else. It might be more expensive but overall the account will never be taken from you and the extra cost may be worth it to some people.

We sell maxed mains over at Divicasales, but it sounds like you're more after skills such as maxed thieving so I'm unable to give any recommendations except for paying people to skill on your account for you.

On the contrary, sounds like something I'd be interested to be honest. The price is a little steep but I suppose that's the cost of security. Thanks for the idea :)

I got scammed on my first purchase and after 2 months, I never got my money back. $170 I'm never gonna see again and the jackass gained 22 mil exp just last week. Probably scammed just to get more money for TH.

My only advice is to constantly chat with the person. My second purchase was all good and as far as I'm concerned, if the person selling is stingy and acting like an asshole or using too many emoji's, or impersonating someone with a reputation, that person is most likely scamming.

Look man I stopped reading at the part where you're going to the Montreal GP and I have to say I've yet to meet another F1 fan here on the forums. I'm a diehard AMG fan, go LH44! I would not suggest buying an account unless you buy from a reputable member and they will cost tons.
