Sythe Suggestions

Hello guys,

Although I am a new person I have decided that some suggestions are needed in order to help sythe grow bigger.

The first suggestion I have is Ranks. I am not requesting any ranks here but I am suggesting adding new ranks such as a GFX Designer Rank and a Developer Rank. The developer rank will be given to people who take on new risk. As such there should be a new section for developers where they are given so called "malicious" links that are posted on sythe. They then have to decompile this malicious code to check if they really are malicious. This would not only award Sythe developers with the rank themselves but I feel developers would play a key role in helping Sythe staff too. I understand if you feel that this is wrong because blackhat activity is frowned upon in the sythe community HOWEVER these people will not be participating in that due to the fact they are testing code for sythe staff. This might mean that sythe staff don't have to do as much work but the developer rank will be praised upon to have in the sythe community. Again, if this was a suggestion on the do not suggest list I am sorry I just took a quick peek and saw nothing wrong with these ideas. Also the GFX rank will be rewarded to the best GFX artist and this will be voted for by the community themselves. You could do the same thing with developer ranks too.

Secondly, Staff Ranks. On the bottom on the sythe page you can clearly see this:


I feel that this can be approved upon by using a hook. This will basically allow new users to see who is what staff member rank on the forums instead of having to hover over names and getting used to the Sythe system. I've seen a lot of people do it, so why shouldn't Sythe? I mean, in my opinion, I don't think it'll be a huge job to do.

Finally, I think that the advertise with sythe.org isn't big enough. I understand that it is there to allow people to advertise however because I don't think many people use email for advertisements it should loop onto a donation page. On there, they'll be a list of advertisement options, whether its for a place on the header or the footer. This will ensure that everyone can have a turn at advertising and that its not one particular person hogging all the advertisement space because they're the few people that actually use emails. It can also save time for Matthew (or whoever deals with the donations) because then they can just check donations logs find out who donated and instantly the banner can be put up on the website nearly instantly.

I hope you enjoyed reading this. I usually write long because I like to give a point and an explanation (sometimes with evidence included). If you dislike my ideas, say why. Don't just disagree for the sake of disagreement. Remember these ideas can be improved upon also. So if you like an idea but just don't like the way I explained it will work remember you can modify them to your own extent.

Terrible idea. That's like putting advertisements in a closet, it's unnecessary.

 

Incorrect. Click the link I gave, it shows all staff members on the team. Also, there is no World of Warcraft moderator(s) on the team (Market Moderator covers all aspects of the market, including WoW).

You want to maximize the amount of people who are looking at advertisements. Putting them in a closet does not help, and it makes no sense because in order to get into the donation page, you would need to be on the main page (where advertisements are shown).

A security team already exists.

 

Previous responses have debunked most of these suggestions, and I don't support them.

The only one I agree with, slightly, is the advertisement's idea. I don't believe your solution is the correct one, but I do feel that ads should be handled differently.
