What do you know bout Paintball guns?

Hi i was wondering what everone knows about pb guns because i going to buy one but can't make my mind up!

Spyder vs2 or Smart parts ion​

Spyder shoots 25 per second and is around 189.99
Smart parts shoots 17 per second and is around 199.99

Im not sure about quality so i figured some one would know! thx

 

I'll Just say what I have to say here.

My very first paintball gun was a spyder, and it was a piece. The thing chopped the balls on me like no tommorow. Although it was an ok starter paintball gun in the world of paintball guns itself. It will do you no good if you want to play speed ball, or even woodsball lol. The accurancy on the ones I have seen have been horrible. With or without a new barrel. As for the spyder doing 25balls a second, I dont think it does but hey it could. But what good is it if the balls are going every wich way but where your pointing. Overal I think it looks cheap also.I dont know maybe its me but Im just dislike spyder guns

As for the Ion, I won one in a 3 man tourni. I'll tell you the bad things about it right off the bat.
The feedneck, the feed neck does not clamp. It has a fat O-ring to hold your hopper on. The stock board it comes with can be a bit confusing when you first get it, if it is your first gun. If not you shouldnt have a problem with it. The button to turn the gun on can be a little fragial. the first time I tried it out after I won it I pressed the button got stuck. But I took it to my job Cousins paintball and I got it fixed free lol.

If you do get the ION. Theres one maybe 2 upgrades that your most likely going to want. A new clamping feed neck 35$ max. And maybe a new barrel because the powder coated one does nothing for the gun.

Other then that its a great gun, it has different modes to shoot in. Im sure you read them. It doesnt look like complete crap (cheap) And aside from the botton (in my case) the thing can take some abuse.

The ion is a great base gun to build up on. The board on it is great, but You can get a new one like blackheart or the virtue. Get a nice drop forward on it, match the parts up. I'tl look good

DO NOT use regular c02 with this gun, or any gun with a seloniod in it. The cold could damage the parts if you shoot to fast. Buy a decent nitro tank, run you about 160$. And a regular hopper will not due with the ion, You going to need an electric feed hopper. Maybe an eggy, or a halo b eggy run you about 60, the halo about 100. Eggy is a bit heavier.

Chopping: When the ball doesnt go all the way down into the chamber, the little piston like thing chops it up on ya

As for the ion chopping balls it doesnt when you have the ions on, the eye's make sure theres a ball in the chamber before you shoot so you dont chop the balls. You can turn them off if you want to just shoot air. I'll post a pic of The ion before I sold it with the stuff I had with it.

My ion pwns.
and I have no idea where the hell you got the 25 balls per second, but Ion is the only paintball gun with over 1000's of upgrades, you can upgrade it up to 35 bps.

ONLY USE NITRO TANKS WITH THIS GUN.


But if you can't get a nitro tank, just go to your local paintball store and have them install a anti-siphon tube in your Co2 tank.

B- get a dm7 lol my brother plays on a ammy pball team and has a dm7. its sick but verry expensive

 

Angels, they're good but when you buy one your buying the name. Ive shot an Ego and thats prob my favorite gun right now, but theres no way I'm paying 1200$ for it. DM's are awesome my Dm6 still holding strong lol.

Well if your playing speedball SP ion all the way, but if your like me and play woodsball i would suggest a tippman A-5 with a E-grip, thats what i have and they own, ions are to hard to maintain for me, oiling it and stuff, tippmans are nearly impossible to break.

 

i woudl play smart parts gun

 

I have an A-5... Gets the job done.

 

I dont know much about paintball, but i know it owns airsoft lol

 

ION for sure.. no spyder can match the ION.
