I need your opinion on a current situation

To make things short..
Recently my sister has contacted me and told me that the father of her two children has been abusing the other child that's not related to him. My sister told me he leaves marks on him, and also my nephew is to scared to go back into the house my sister resides in. My sister lives with a huge Mexican family involving the father of her child, the father of her child's 3-4 brothers and step dad and mother. I obviously know I should contact CPS and law enforcement next time when my sister catches him in the act but I feel like I should drop this low life. Any tips will be appreciated

 

Rational option:
Hit up CPS and the authorities ASAP. These types of situations can really mess kids up. Get him out of their.

I am on your side with both decisions, however; here's what you want to look at, if you go attack him, there definitely a chance that you could catch some serious charges yourself, felony battery is no joke.

Best thing you should do is contact CPS and get that kid outta there.

 

This - you dont wanna get charges against yourself you need to contact CPS STRAIGHT AWAY and save that poor kid a lifetime of misery.

So let me get this straight, your sister is fine with staying with this man who is actively beating one of her kids?

 

You'd be surprised the shit people deal with just to not leave their comfort zone/not go into financial ruin.

 

That is the real issue here for sure.

 

She isn't dating him she is currently only residing with him because she has no where else to go.

 

By not contacting CPS you could be held liable for endangerment of a child.

Honestly all you should do is be there for your sister and her kids. It's not your place to call cps but encourage your sister to. Be there and provide all the love and support you can. With you stepping in and calling cps it could lead to a huge mess between you and her. She could be kicked out to the street since there is no relationship between them.

 

Make sure you take pictures and document everything before contacting any authorities or it will just be thrown under the rug.

 

Get in contact with CPS and law enforcement immediately! Don't wait for a next time, those situations most likely escalate more each time.

I was a kid in foster care, and had to deal with those situations quite often. Its going to damage him mentally with that physical damage. He eventually will start to think that its that norm and how he is supposed to act, and he may do the same thing when he's older.

As far as dropping the dude, as much as you may want to, its really not worth it.
Personally, you don't want this to affect your clean record or future jobs and such. Let the trigger happy cops deal with it.
