Thoughts on how Jagex catch RL Traders.

They are after the sellers, not the buyers.

 

this theory was aimed at both the seller and buyer.

Nice theory, i think you may have a little something going there. Using the duel arena would make it extremely difficult for jagex to track you down. I would suggest that.

 

Yeh that's one of my theories too.

I think the safest way is by a duel.

 

No offence, or not saying you're wrong, but I don't think they can do that, and if they could, wouldn't it take like ages to look it all up?

Would work but quite risky. What happens if the person lags an another guy picks up the money? Or the person lags out and the money disappears. Same for wildly except there are more variables, like a pker coming and pking you. Also the levels would have to be nearly the same or else travelling deep in the wildy would be dangerous.

So for free plays buying the mills, it is more risky. I agree with you Covey, sounds pretty thoguht out and most likely what they use unless they have some other leet thing to detect it.

 

Yer i got to thinking they keep track of alot more things then we used to think. Because on the rs news page it says something along the lines of "Player X has played for 140 days, 16 hours 5 mins and 42 seconds." So i thought if they keep track of playing time i think they will keep track of trades, deaths etc.

 

i heard from an Ex J mod that jagex is actually a little smarter than i give them credit for. Lets say player A and player B make a trade where player A gives player B 50mil. That trade will then be flagged and if they see player A giving more people money then it will be looked into more and then banned\w.e. punishment. Now I have already thought of that and never do direct trades for large sums of money wether its giving to friends or to my pure. However, another method that i have used for p2pers is u coming in my house, i lock the portal and i drop the money. Un reportable since no1 else can enter the house and be a witness however, what this mod has told me is that jagex will notice a sudden influx of money into ur account. for example; ipwnu suddenly gets 50mil at 8:08 am est. Looking into it deeper. iownu drops 50mil at coordinate XX, XX at 8:07am est, and then at 8:08 at coordinate XX, XX ipwnu picks the money up=flagged invistigated->banned\w.e.
Not saying that what i have just stated is 100% true accurate or always happens but just throwing this information out there for you [whomever reads\cares] to decipher.

 

I say Thats a pretty good method/theory but there can be loaners out there and thats not against the rules. they just don't want u to do stuff like that. so that can be a big hole in your theory. i have alot of friends i have some on notepad because the friends list isn't big enough.

Why, oh why do you post threads like this... Jagax knows about this site, and is probably reading these threads as we speak. Their peobably trying to figure out how these people RLT and stop it. You guys blabbing about fake duels and trades, now their going to start watching Stakes too...

its was runscape selling the money on ebay and ever since that update happend all thoses mill that were getting sold on ebay dissaperd meaning runescape has had enouth it was them.

Your theory sounds pretty good to me.

from my experience selling accounts jagex doesnt kno anything unless some presses report because they cant monitor every trade... and ive even talked ppl on runescape instead of msn or aim the accout pass and deatails

 

covey nice theory got to try it out when buying mills.

 

Get the gold on a lvl 3 account, walk him near draynor by the jail cells with the Guards, follow behind him with your higher level account, let the guard kill your level 3 account, pick up the gold on your higher level right afterwards. thats the method I've always used.
