    Buyer/seller insurance? Idea I have.

I've been part of sythe for some time now and Iv played rs even longer...I've bought/sold things on may websites and video games. Now more than ever it seems to be increasingly harder and harder to sell something on here as a new person. If you havent donated X amount of dollars...Been a member for X amount of years have X amount of vouches and x amount of posts....You will be judged as a newbie scammer and have a VERY VERY hard time selling something on here especially Accounts....You're expected to go first almost always...and that's even if you get that far with it lol.

What im saying is Sythe can turn a lot of new people off and make it difficult to sell things because of all the scammers here, ban evasion is more common now than ever with VPN's being so easily obtainble. The effect of this results in only a handful of people suscessfully selling items on here....the big boys...with all the donations and post etc and thats great no hate here at all, But theres virtually no room for newcomers here, and these few people who are trusted and sell on here jack thier prices up high because they know they are your only option if you want a secure sale...but even then people still scam...I have seen very trusted people get the hammer.

I suggest a system that works similar to donations...Its a method my friends and I used when we gambled in rs3. Its a insurance policy. Say you join sythe make a acount and want to start selling....You see the harsh reality that no one wants anything to do with your newbie ass lol so now what? GET INSURANCE!!!

Insure your future customers by giving sythe x amount of dollars.
Now if anyone ever gets scammed sythe can refund them through the sellers insurance.
Deposit 50$? now you can Sell something up to the amount of 50$ and the buyer can be 100% sure they will not get scammed and will be refunded. Anything over your insurance amount would not be covered sadly but its a whole lot better than the way things are now. Im not sure what the legalities are with this idea and im sure theres some holes in it but i do think this is a great way to boosts sucessfull sales while giving newcomers the chance to make sales. It would show whos serious about trying to sell and who isnt and unlike a donation the money can be used to refund people because lets be honest banning does nothing.

The market is one sided and this could change everything.

If you agree or disagree let me know, also if you can think of any ways to make my idea better or if you have your own post it below. Cheers!

What if you charge back your insurance, then what happens? What if you're new and trying to sell an account for $50 then be done with Sythe, so you pay your $50 insurance and end up making nothing? This sounds very similar to donating because if you donate X amount of dollars, if you were ever to scam it would for > X. What if you deposit a $50 insurance then sell 2 accounts for $85 each and scam. The buyer's still lose in the end an only make a fraction of the loss back.

Like I said theres some holes in every potential suggestion, but if enough people has interest in this i'm sure we can come up with soloutions.

Heres a few other idea for the whole insurance thing....
You can remove/add insurance at anytime (but when you remove it there will be a delay so sythe can check and make sure theres no open cases against you.) So you cant trade/scam, remove insurance and vanish.

Also maybe a certain percent of your insurance would go as a donation...to help pay for the monitoring and distrubution of this new system.

How would you make nothing? Sell your acc. Collect your deposit then leave sythe if you want. Like i said your insurance would only cover what you put in isnt getting most or all of your $ back better than sythe saying sorry bub? The banning the douche only to come back again and repeat?

Yes you can, just ask for your insurance to be removed then recover a day or two after. I wouldn't support this idea because it doesn't serve its purpose well enough. If a portion of it goes as a donation, then it's a donation now rather than a deposit. This idea is essentially just a temporary donation or a false sense of security. The only use for this would be for the account market because middleman's can be used to ensure a safe trade in the others but it should be known that account trades will never be safe for the buyer side.

What's the point of having an insurance if you can just collect it back? It is a false, temporary sense of security in that regard. If the account gets recovered then there's nothing to pay back to the person who was scammed because there is nothing to give them now that the seller has collected their insurance back. If you do choose to not collect back your insurance, then you're donating. Doesn't matter whether it's optional or not, I would still trust a newcomer the same way I would trust a newcomer with insurance which defeats the concept.

Thanks for sharing that! I figured I wasnt the only one who thought of something along the same lines. I figure it will never happen because that would be the next step from becoming a community to a company for it all to be legal of course.

Even with that taken into consideration, I still don't believe it would be beneficial.
