    This is for all the people that try to go around using iFrames, framesets, or embedding things to try to play Runescape at school or on other filtered places.

    First of all, the main catcher.
    Code:
    <script language='javascript'>try { if (top == self) {top.location.href='http://www.runescape.com/'; } } catch(er) {  } </SCRIPT>
    This is on the source code for the pages that have the actual clients on them.

    This simply takes a javascript code and checks if the url in your address bar is the same as the frame it's in. If its not, it goes to http://www.runescape.com/ .

    Next, the source code catcher. From the loader.jar file, in loader.class
    Code:
    try
            {
                b = new ha(true, this, InetAddress.getByName(getCodeBase().getHost()), i, "runescape", 14);
            }
            catch(Exception exception2)
            {
                a((byte)125, "nocache");
                return;
            }
    Now I don't know much Java, but I'm pretty sure this checks for the name of the site hosting it, and if it's not runescape(.com, .net, etc), then it raises exception2, which redirects it to error_game_wronghost.ws or something similar. I'm working on recompiling the loader.jar and loader.cab files but every time I try it gives me these random errors, as if runescape is just making random crap up in their files.

    RuneHQ fakes it, really. They just use an IFrame.
    Code:
    <iframe width='767' height='630' scrolling='no' frameborder='0' name='runescape' id='runescape' src='http://ch1.runescape.com/lang/en/aff/runescape/game.ws?lowmem=1&plugin=0'></iframe>
    This works if the root site www.runescape.com is blocked, and nothing within it. However, most school/work filters will take the entire site and screw it over. IFrames still load the page. So really, that single IFrame will get filtered and the rest of the page won't, unless like RuneHQ, it gets blocked for gaming by itself.

    Proxies!

    Proxies don't work. HTTP-Based proxies, like proxy.net, won't work because of that catch (er) phrase mentioned at the top of this post. Don't even try. Oh and proxies don't work for macroing, etc, because Runescape uses a Java applet. Applets, unlike most JavaScript, goes right into your computer (if you click Run on the little popup) and doesn't even need to use your IP to see who you are (Jagex uses a uid.dat file in your %systemroot%/.file_cache_32/ folder).

    So how do you play Runescape past filters? You don't. End of story. I'm currently working on recompiling the source code for the Runescape loader, and could use all the help from people that actually know Java that I can get. Add my MSN, [email protected] , if you can help.

    Good work. I would love the people that post 9389 times a day asking the same question, "What proxy works at school to play runescape" or "How can i hack runescape at school". It gets old. I hope they see this. :)

    Yes I think covey did read it but what he was saying is that all you needed to say was "You can't"
    There is really no point in all that mumbo jumbo because basicly ALL schools run through proxys. When information comes from the "No-No" list, then the proxy replaces the page with a massive STOP sign. The proxy wont even allow most advertising services. Or the word game, Proxy And other words like that. Hell it even blocks the word "Hardcore" in emails and you automatically get a 2 week ban. Tis ashame the admin is a moron, because most people know how to avoid email bans :D

    I can't even get onto runescape.com at my school. And I've tried every proxy, I mean at least 200 sites and they are all blocked! lol. Whats the point anyways, the game won't load with java blocked...

    Exactly. Long story short, if you try to play RS on a proxy, you get 404 not found error.

    You delete UID and use a socks 5 proxy. Solves mostly everything, cept that all proxies are to slow.
