    Time Travel, is it possible?

It seems hard to say exactly what will happen at the speed of light. I think it would be a detriment to have time travel.

Btw, how fast can we currenty go?

Nothing to say except for that I personally think it is possible. We all have seen what has come in to this world, we are learning tons of useful stuff every day of our lives.

    Time travel isn't possible.
    Though, the illusion isn't.
If man traveled the speed of light, he would black out, and if so, possible for years? And when he awoke, he would be in the future. The black out would last something like 1 seconds to him, when he awoke.
So the illusion is, into the future, but it's not truley possible, and travelling into the past isn't :p

You cannot actually travel faster than light. With our universe's current physical laws, it's impossible.

You also cannot travel back in time. I believe that Einstein proved this somehow...

Well, we would have to find somewhere time doesn't exist.

From there, I wouldn't know what to do, but, if we do find somewhere like that, it would be possible.

If we move faster, Then wont time slow down for us?
So if I am 10 and my friend is 10 (We are acculy not but lets use it)
I go travel at the speed of time for what seems a hour to me seems as 100 years to my friend according to the video. Then I would trip him and laugh :p.

i think the whole idea is impossible....if you screw something up in the future, you could ruin your whole life...but then if you get to go back in time, its actually the thing you were destined to do ^_^

i think if it were possible...nobody would actually do it cuz they have a chance of ruining their life

Yeah i read or head something about when you hit the speed of ligth (300.000km/t) time stands still, but i don't know if its true or not, but does that qualify it as time travel?

Time does not quite stand still at the speed of light, but the relationship between space and time is distorted. Funny things happen when you are traveling fast.

To explain this I will use an example Einstein used that went something along the lines of this. If you were traveling on an airplane for your entire life, you will live two seconds longer if you were to die of old age, but you'd probably die from the food before.

Time isn't stopped at the speed of light, but it is distorted. If we developed the means to travel at the speed of light, we could reach another galaxy in 10,000 light years. That journey could be completed in a single human lifespan traveling at the speed of light, but for people still on earth it would take 1,000 generations before that person would reach another galaxy.

you can travel faster than the speed of light but you would still see it moving much faster than you...
................................................................................................................................... ^^^right there, thats when i realized what the video really meant. the faster you move the slower time is. the light, changes the speed of time in order to beat you in a race.

Thats pretty cool. I think I get it, watching the video changed my whole perspective on what I thought time travel would be like. What they said though would make perfect sence.

I dont really see it as time travel though now. What makes them "time travel" is them creating a larger distance for a photon to travel so time for themselves is taking longer to reach its target so it slows them down wile everything else around it is moving at the same rate as it normaly would.

correct if I'm wrong but I think thats it lol

nope, I dont think that would be it because. When the man in the video moved the 2 mirrors around, you saw how when the light reflected off them it didnt go in a straight up and down path. It went diagonal.

So if I were to race you. You would win because your closer. You hitting your target is normal time. Me hitting my target will take longer, so I will be slower. So each time we hit the target we are the time around us. Me slower (further distance) you faster (closer)

Moving faster than light would still not be "Time Travel". I don't know why people keep posting things about moving faster than light. That would be a step closer, but still pointless. Scientists are working on understanding "photons", which are the quantum of electromagnetic energy, regarded as a discrete particle having zero mass, no electric charge, and an indefinitely long lifetime. They have also been proved to be in two separate places at the same exact time. Once we figure those suckers out..we should be well on our way...

i think time travel is a stupid subject it might happen in 20+ years or it may never....but why...why discuss this topic at this point in time? ofcourse everyone wonders the big question....WE SHOULDNT EVEN TRY!SOME SCIENTIST COULD SCREW UP AND KILL US ALL!

It's not, the second law of thermodynamics prevents it. Even if it were possible, you would be fried with infinite energy if you tried.
