csClient v1.7 - Compiled Friday, May 24, 2007

--About csClient--
csClient is my Runescape client. It's written in vb6 and im a nice guy so I went ahead and released the source code. The project and form files are all rar'd up and linked to at the bottom of the post.

-Boss key (hides all csclient/runescape windows when you press ctrl+shit+x)

Before you tell me leachers will leach the shit out of this, sorry, I don't really care. I did comment the code kinda so I hope it can be of use to LEARNING VBers. By the way i did have like 150 posts before the Sythe wipe, so please don't call me a leecher/noob/whatever. I'd still appreciate it if someone scanned the files, though.

This version contains mostly under-the-hood code changes and bug fixes. It is an important update regardless.
-Fixed the calculator so that it works again.
-Added a button to export IRC chatlog to a file.
-Changed prompts on some message boxes
-Moved "Show IRC Panel" button
-Added third preset size, "Show Bottom Panel"
-The worldstatus form now remembers which world you had selected when you click refresh and automatically selects it again for you.
-The music player will now scroll down the playlist automatically as it plays songs in order.
-The worldlist system has been entirely redone. I no longer have to release an update to csClient when Jagex changes some of the world numbers, I can just push a worldlist file to all clients that connect to the update site. This new system also fixes some problems where the WorldStatus form does not associate world numbers with actual worlds correctly, leading to it loading the wrong world.
-Added an built in update checker, instead of relying on users to check for updates the program does it automatically. I am still surprised at how many people are still running csClient 1.3, 1.4 etc., months after newer versions have been released.
-Fixed the price guide link in the utilities menu.
-Various other changes to coding were made.

Thanks for posting again nphp20. I still have the last version you posted on here. I used it for reference on certain things. Hey did you ever get your world status working again?

 

world status works fine in this version... thats pretty much the only change i made (besides adding skull timer and changing some code here and there).

 

the only thing I don't love about it is the use of VB6, Good job!

 

Heh... well i don't know very much c++ so that wouldn't work and I am planning on moving to vb.net, the client will probably be converted.

Cs Client is a really good client. I'm glad you fixed your world status in this one (when I was new to vb I used yours as an example). When I fixed mine I did a lot more editing than I had to lol.

by the way, does anyone know how i would go about adding an irc client to my proggie? I don't know too much about IRC protocol, so i don't know how to go about making one.

Oh okay cool i found the project and managed to add it into my client. I added proper credit to the actual irc client panel and to the about window.

With that, ive just uploaded csclient 1.6 to my server.

 

wow nice client I've been trying to get the thing forever but 101 had broken links =/ (but then i found it here) can you post that simple browser that your client uses when you use the welcom-screen links plz? I want to use it when i'm not using the client.

 

im not at my regular computer right now so i dont have any code, but if you want the browser, just open the form called cblefrm... that has all the code for the browser.

edit: umm i just tried loading my website and it appears to be down, I can't download the code or the executable and the welcome page won't load... dunno if this is a problem with the comp im using or with my webhost, ill check it out when i get back to my computer.

Just uploaded version 1.7 to my webserver which now appears to be running properly, 1.7 adds a whole bunch of undertehhood shit, so it might not appear too much different to the end user and itll probably only be interesting to coders. its still an important update though so go ahead and download it.
