League of Legends How To Carry Solo Queue

Hey guys, i just wrote a article on my best advice to improve your skills on the rift. If anyone is interested in hearing my opinion on how to tackle that ever elusive Elo, have a quick read and let me know what you think

You make some interesting points. For me personally the best thing you mentioned is to pick your best role (support for me) and stick to 2-3 champions (Thresh main here), don't necessarly take 'meta-picks' only.

I was stuck in Silver again and didn't manage to seem to get out, but my roles and champs were all over the place, I was basicly playing ADC/MID/Jungle/Support because I wasn't able to find my current fit. So I decided to just go back to my old comfort pick and old comfort role: Thresh - Support

And now I am back in Gold 5 atleast

 

Very nice, yeah many people try to find "the best role" rather than "Their best role" and it's definitely a big thing, good job btw

And I must say I understand why people do it. Say you lose 3 matches in a row with shit carries your thought can go to: "No one can carry in this elo, guess I ll have to carry and go play (a carry role or champ)". Not the mentality/state of mind you should have but it happends sometimes

 

I hate when people try playing the new OP champions only to feed the entire game. Play your strengths rather than what's considered the best of the best!

 

Nice work, support is by far my least favorite role, it's so boring.

 

It really depends on how you play support and what your style is. As a main Thresh support I create so much opporunities and I make so many plays that it's acutally very exciting. You have a huge amount of impact on the game if played correct. Sucks that not many people notice supports though. Often I am in the situation where my adc goes like 16-2-10 or w/e and I am like 1-0-38 and everyone is like 'Gj Lucian, thanks for carry'. And I am just sitting there like >,> fucking cringe.

 

Been a top lane main for a very long time since I began playing in Season 3. Completely agree with the "play YOUR best role" strategy. Also sticking to a few champs or OTP'ing a champ is definitely the way to go if you're looking to climb.

 

top lane is my second least fav role, feel like i never impact the game until like 20 mins in

 

Interesting, I feel like you could have wen't more deep into some personal skills of league of legends otherwise it was a good article.

The point you made about consistency was new and important for me. Having just started playing league its a comforting thought that the rng will even out long term

 

I honestly just used to fill before the system changes. I don't have a main or preferred role but somehow it works out for me. I did decay from diamond 3 recently to diamond 5 due to lack of interest which has annoyed me but now im just playing to stay in diamond as I dont have much interest in it.

Having a main role is nice as you will improve there and get good at it but being diverse in roles also increases knowledge of what your team can do during a game.

It always does and it's important to keep in mind that over time, you WILL climb if you win as much as you lose.

 

Honestly one of the best things to do is pick your best role and stick to it when playing ranked. If you're one of those people who just play ranked for the fun of it and plays all roles and isn't good at any of them, you'll never progress.

Stick to 1 role, master it, & enjoy climbing

I honestly appreciate the work and effort that people put into making guides as I think many people find them useful. But I never saw really saw relatively broad advice as being helpful. I won a lot more by playing different champs/ roles each game. If I think a game is over I'll afk or spam /ff. I really hope this isn't offensive, but so many people make guides / videos saying broadly the same things. Just google elo hell or elo guide on YouTube. They might be right for some players, but not all of them. I'll admit I am a player who's been stuck in around the same division for forever and probably could do better. But, at the same time, I would much rather hear what you personally did to gain elo. I started ranked and got placed into silver and thought I was super good. I bought an elo boost from bronze 5 - silver 5 and got dunked on. I realized I was not as good as I thought I was and started thinking about what I could do to win. I got to diamond playing tryndamere with a super shitty kda and a high winrate. I don't stick to one champ and am not really a "positive player". Keep in mind the picture posted is my smurf account and I am sure you are higher elo than me. I mean no offense when I say this. I learned some basics of the game and climbed to the top 1% of players. I just think that guides might be helpful for some but most of them say the same thing when there are infinite ways to climb. Certain champs when played correctly win very often while not seeming to do good. I think the more important aspects of the game are glossed over while people focus on other things. Just my opinion but.

 

thats how you lose games, to win games you want to be good with a champion you know, not a champion you don't really know, but as you said you hit diamond by one trick ponying, so theres that.
