    Popups, random crashes and blur.

Hi. Ill get straight to the point here. I've had my laptop since Christmas, and ive had no problems till now. About 2 weeks ago, i started getting pop ups. No big deal, a popup blocker should sort them. How wrong i was... Every time i go on an internet browser, i get attacked by popups. Most of them get blocked, however some get through. These include fake virus scan sites and debt solution things. Most of them are harmless, but some of these so called 'virus scan' sites download viruses into my computer through the Local settings/temp/ folder. Now, my computer screen goes black randomly with no warning, and i have to restart my computer and run the disk verification to get back on. Also, my screen seems blurry all of a sudden.. I turned it on one day to find everything with a slight blur. Does anyone know a solution to any of these problems? If i must i'll backup my hard drive and reboot it completely. And if i must reboot it, what parts of my documents should i not backup so i dont get the popups and viruses.
(Dont tell me to run a virus scan. Ive done it many times, and it eliminates the viruses but the popups will bring them back) Is there some sort of script i have to delete to get rid of the popups? And im clueless on the blur and crashes.

To recap, ill post a list of the problems.
    - Very bad popups and viruses being downloaded to /temp/ when i go on an internet browser (ive tried Internet Explorer, Firefox and Avant)
    - Random screen crashes with no warnings.
    - slight blur on screen.

I'll post any extra information you may need.

Thanks to anyone who gives even the tiniest bit of help (or if you cant help, at least bump it) Thanks again!

By the way, My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5101 AWLMi.

Hmm, try using Opera instead of IE, install AVG antivirus, spybot search and destroy, Ad-Aware , zonealarm free, and clean ALL of your system.

    Make sure you CLEAN everything.

That should solve the first 2 porbs.

For the blurry thing, i think it must be a MONITOR/SCREEN problem. Try another screen, and other resolutions.

How would you recommend cleaning my system? Ill try opera. I had it once before but if its well known the popups might be there too. As i said, I cant change screens as im using a laptop.

Reformat, but with the new installation, use better habits.

Use firefox, download a free antivirus, firewall, etc.

    Don't download anything suspicious.

Watch the sites you go to.

    Scan occasionally.

    On another note...
Another method I use to stop popups is to disable javascript, and enable it just when you need it. The only method of making a popup is through javascript, and once you disable it, it shouldn't even bother you.

ok, thanks. By reformat do you mean reboot the whole machine?
and the popups i get are full screen popups... Like as if you open a new window, but im not doing anything to open them =/

Reformat meaning as in getting your windows cd and re-installing windows.

If you don't have a cd, ask your manufacturer, or check around to see if one came with your computer.

Or do something less than legal to obtain it, but I wouldn't really go there.

This might be the time to move to linux maybe?
