Cannot access account. What is going on?

Hello, so when I woke up about an hour ago I could not log into my runescape account. My email shows that there was a password reset attempt while I was sleeping last night. When I try to reset the password it tells me it has sent a new link to my email(which is mostly starred out but it does look like mine) but when I check my email account I get no new emails from Jagex. Clicking the link in the original password reset email just tells me that the appeal has been expired. I have checked all my spam folders and everything. So I keep trying to reset my password using the runescape website and eventually it tells me that they believe there has been a fraudulent attempt to recover this account FROM MY IP and that it won't let me try again for another hour.

I bought this runescape account from a user on here not too long ago and have since spent a lot of money on osrsgp on it.

What should I do? Should I notify the mods of this website that the account seller is fraudulent? Is jagex's password recovery system pure shit? What the fuck is going on.

The account seller is an old member of sythe and has many vouches.

I am quite dismayed and any insight would be greatly appreciated.

 

Contact original owner, get his input before filing a report here at Sythe.

 

Yes, but what if he says he has nothing to do with it? What am I to do then?

 

If he is the responsible owner, he will do his best. (Staff will ask him to do so)

If other buyers/sellers have recovered it, the original owner can still recover.

 

The original owner should be able to help you recover the account, if he is no help to you then its probably him recovering it
