How do energy prices affect the global economy?

I'd say it doesn't matter. People still use ALOT of energy.

 

Well there demand for alternative sources of energy would rise.
Higher energy prices might affect operation of factories and production of goods.
Leading to higher prices for same standard of living.
Accentuate rich-poor divide further

basically it will ruin a community because it will eliminate the middle class. either you cant afford anything or you can afford everything

 

There has been a raising demand for energy, with all the new technology that needs more and more energy.
They might create a new way to process the energy, other than the Windmills and the water wheels.
The shortage of energy can ruin an economy, as david said.
