I believe it is possible. People with rares are dumb enough to get lured, so it is possible they could have the I.Q. of a doorknob and sell it to the general store.

 

Nobody will fall for this. A person, who owns a rare is experienced enough.
The only way is that if You run into a player who just started to play again and had a rare from RSC.
