Why i belive in a higher power....

its basically a dim witted way of saying the big bang theory.

Your right, there is no proof that god exists, nor is there proof that the big bang theory happened. Yet at the same time, one cannot proove that it didnt happen either. Just a question: How do you see this god? Do you humanize it? Do you give it a face? Does it live or just float around?
I dont really belive in either of the ideas really. But somehow the bigbang theory is far more belivable than some all mighty force.

I belive that the whole idea of a god is just something to give humans comfort. To think they are actually worth something significant. To make them think they have a purpose in life. Humans like to think they are superior, far more intelligent than any other form of life out there. But when you think about it, are we really that intelligent? We want peace so we blow things up and kill thousands of people! We want to find out about another species so we cut it up into as many peices as we can! We are more interested in ourselves than anything else on this planet!

When you think about it, are we really so intelligent?

But really, would you honestly want to know? If there was a god and all, would you really want to know it is there? If it was a fact, and everyone knew that there was a big bang as such, would you really want to know?

Take a ring for example. When you look at a ring you see a piece of metal with a hole in the middle. The ring cannot exist without the hole. The hole cannont exist without the ring.

If there was no big bang then there would be no religion. If there was no religion there would be no theory.

If you take one away the other seizes to exist. Everyone would get on with their merry little worthless lives and not care about it. It would be normal if there was a god. Everyone would think the same thing about it and no one would be different.

I for one like my differences. Its what defines me. Its what makes me, me. I really dont care if there is a god, big bang or whatever the hell you want to belive. Because I know that one day I will die. One day it wont matter what I think because I will be dead. I will only exist in the minds of those who remeber me. Which is what you christians and other religions refuse to belive. You like the comfort of knowing you will go somewhere when you die, Correct? I for one would rather live my life making a name for myself.

You only live life once, step up or forever fade away...

 

I do NOT believe in a god. Neither do i believe in the big bang. I am still searching to find what's right...

I have strong faith in an after life, as i myself have had a near death experience. But in case there isn't, i live life to the fullest. In the words of Deacon Frost..don't rush through the meal to get to desert, when it turned out mom didn't make it....

The only thing i don't believe in is evolution, and i have faith in a higher power....

I'm open to anything....i'm reading the Koran, The Holy Bible, book of Mormon,
Alot of Darwin's books...

The answer may very well be that there isn't one. Who knows maybe out existence doesn't mean a damn thing. I doubt that anybody alive now will live long enough for everything explained...the irony is all our questions about life will be answered when we're dead and don't need them anyway.

 

Just the same chance it means everything.

 

eh in my book humans are just egotistical. We think that since we are the most intelligent species on the planet, that we have some higher purpose than all the other animals who didn't evolve like we did. Why are we so special?

 

Humans are conscious of our consciousness.

 

It is an illusion which arises from the interactions of billions of brain cells.

 

The only real difference between other animals way of thinking and ours is that we know that some day we're going to die, and we want to avoid it. It's more our mortality that we are concious of than our conciousness. Who's to say other animals aren't aware of thier conciousness?

I read most of it, you're generalizing the big bang theory too much. You explanation of how it works is more of a logical fallacy than reasoning.

You may have, but the way you responded was more of a propaganda than logic.

I honestly don't know. I know we won't know until long after I'm dead, and I doubt if we will ever know, given the fact that humans could destroy the earth at any given moment if we had laxed judgement at the time. Maybe there wasn't ever a start. Maybe all our theories are wrong, and nothing started existence. Maybe I'm wrong and there is some higher power although I haven't ever seen evidence of it. Maybe there's another theory that has yet to be comprised that explains it all correctly.

I agree with you...i think you should open your eyes more. Don't label yourself an aithest.

See, you still have a thought in the back of your mind their might be a higher power...don't be stiff. Be open to everything.
