Ok guys, I have a challenge for you.

Rhyme scheme deteriotes about halfway through: abab ccdd ccee fgf hiii iijikkll

Narrator: Adam? (or man/mankind as the descendent of Adam)

It says the tree will become of June, but June isn't the beginning of autumn/fall, as you'd expect. It's the end of spring. Nature, therefore, isn't really being used as a renewing force, but one which offers fatality/death. (Or at least change, and not a happy one: hence, grows happily...until.)

This implies that the tree is in fact a reference to the tree in the Garden of Eden; the ultimate symbol for unhappy change. (It is, after all, the source of all suffering for mankind, as the result of our sins.) That would also explain the the description of nature as a prison, the enlightening power of the tree to cast off his idealistic dillusions, and the omniscent voice of God at the end.

It's a start -.- I'll leave someone else to toil with the end and actual meaning, before I get it wrong entirely :p

    Build on that :)

    Half-right.

    10 points for you.

Not everything is religious, but the concept is pretty similar.

    Haha.

    Still haven't figured it out.
Does it have anything to do with the Shakespearian Sonnets?

Ok guys, I have a challenge for you.

I'm trying to build on what Sin already figured out, haha. I just saw this thread now. Good writing, though.

I'm at school and about to take my finals. Don't have much time to analyze right now. I'll finish when I get home :D

Ok guys, I have a challenge for you.

Deacon will give it a shot.. :).

Ok, First person.. hmm, what I get from this is.. imagination. When I walk outside, I feel imprisoned. Meaning, you feel safer inside, or you enjoy being inside more than outside. You're not as cramped, the world is tight, and being inside, or at home, is more comfortable.

"when I close my eyes I see so much more". That is pure imagination, or I believe. It's like, I don't like looking at the world, it's scary outside, but here, safe inside my MIND i feel safer, and comfortable.

"Welcome to my world, a land without end." Imagination goes on for forever. So, the world is so small, it's like you feel tightened, but in your spirit, your thoughts, and your mind, you are free and you can live openly, without a cage.

"This barren land, oh what a bore." Basically, you're dogging on life outside of your ideals and mind, and imagination. The barren land is outside, and it's lifeless. Thus again hinting that your world is colorful and full of life.

Hmm, this I get... maybe trying to change the world. I don't see it matching with the previous stanza. Your imagination depicts a better world, possibly a way to change it...

I think it's dark.. I just read it again.. you can see my idea change.. but maybe...

    Some ides-=

The Person is Insane... like.. there world is different than others'

    The Person is on drugs..

    and my favorite..

The person is in Prison. The release date is June.. but they've conformed so much, that it's like the world is a scary place. They leave like they're happy, but once they get outside, it's like.."This isn't where I live"...

Iunno, my head hurts, I'll give it a go another time..
