Cap on GE?

I just tried to buy materials for alching, specifically D'hide bodies, however, I was unable to buy more than 125. I tested this out on other armor, same results.
Did they put a cap on how much can be bought in GE?

There has always been a cap on items man.

 

There's always a cap, every 4 hours it resets.

This is to stop price manipulation I assume?

Ever since the GE was released, there was a cap on items. Imagine if someone had enough money to buy the entire stock of a certain item and control the price of the item indefinitely.
