Slayer Staff for Obby Maul pure

Whats the best way to train to 55 slayer with a Obby maul pure? I've heard using BNeck and maul or cannon or both at the same time. I'm currently 60 str and 40 range. I would like to complete this task with only 50 range/50 magic to keep my CB level down. Thanks!

 

At 50 range/mage, you can also have up to 74 strength without gaining any combat levels (attack+strength = 1.5*range/mage). Ideally you should train up to 74 strength before starting slayer so that you would be 40 combat and have access to Vannaka, but if you're looking to "cap" your levels at the lowest possible ones for wielding a slayer staff, you should work with the other slayer masters until that point. Melee the tasks alongside using a cannon and switch to maging them once you don't want to gain any more range xp.

There's also quite a few other methods of getting slayer xp that I highly recommend doing as they will immensely shorten the grind (and some of them might be necessary, as your range is already level 40). I pulled this list off of Reddit and at a glance they should all be doable on an obby mauler, but I would verify beforehand that they won't give you any unwanted xp:

• RFD (Dwarf) (1k xp)
• Tail of two cats (2 2.5k xp lamps, requires level 30)
• One small favor (2 10k xp lamps, requires level 30)
• Ardy easy diary (2.5k xp lamp, requires level 30)

• Falador easy diary (2.5k xp lamp, requires level 30)

To add on to what meteor said, you might have to just bite the bullet and melee a lot of your tasks without using cannon. It may be slow but it's worth it to not get your range too high and be range based for a long time.

Waste of time. Range to maul til you are about 69 range 85 str then do death plateau for climbing boots. 1 atk hits a LOT of zeros, melee pking is 100% predictable and 1 atk and 55 slayer= facepalm.

People just do it cause it's popular but I have over 1k bh kills on my obby.

Not saying you're wrong, I definitely preferred knives to obby maul when pking but when it comes to training there's no doubt it's worth getting.
