Have you ever been victim of a lure?

Just reminiscing.

I was once lured with the old red portal technique when I was 12 years old. Made me so sad.

 

Yea when I was really young for my full zammy lmao

Nobody has even attempted to lure me lmao, strange.

 

I actually was "lured" a few weeks ago (not sure if it's technically a lure) at the KBD. What happened was this random ranger in noob gear came up to me as I was killing the boss and started up a conversation, eventually asking if I used a looting bag, which at the time seemed like a perfectly innocuous question. Turns out he was a scout, and as soon as I pulled the lever to use my looting bag, there was a team in max mage waiting for me. They also tried to make me panic and skull on the scout who kept telling me to box him (which I'm assuming is the main part of the lure), but thankfully I didn't fall for that. Ended up losing ~1m and a black mask imbue and still really can't believe I didn't realize what was going on beforehand. Needless to say I'm a lot more cautious now

 

Way back when, the old 10k behind the tree trick. Think I lost some Zammy and a few mil but that was so long ago!

 

I've never actually been lured! Never fell for it, took a little while before people gained my trust. Loved watching luring videos from back in the day

 

Used to do whip lures back in the day;
1)convince noob to let him film u killing him for a pk video and full monk robes
2)tell him not to skull and go to wildly with him
3)take him to level 28 wildy so he can't tele
4)drop him to 5 hp and tell him u just want film the KO
5) drop 4 noted dragon battle axes in front of him and wait until they show up
6) 9 times out of 10 they click the battle axes
7) kill them and take whip

 

I got lured back in 07 but I managed to snag the 10K and tele out.

 

Yes back in late 2007. Clan wars were just out, I was still a pretty new player (a few weeks max). He's like a yellow bead, blue wizzy hat and an iron sword or something like that (specifically remember the wizzy hat, as I thought it looked epic). I heard that the wilderness was safe now so I figured I would explore it. So I found clan wars. Some guy was there and told me to go in the red portal. So I did it and didn't bother checking the warning screen. He killed me for my bank. So I ''quit'' rs.

 

Same here! The best way to think about lures is to never think that you're smarter than they are / to anti lure, it never works..

 

I almost got lured for about 5B in 2013, however I dropped my items outside of the purple portal before going in, I was instantly killed as soon as I entered. I respawned outside and simply picked up my items and left, I got really lucky I guess...

 

I haven't been lured but I have witnessed Elvemage lure someone back in the day and it was quite sad.

Yep. Scam/Lure - was selling Nats on forums that I just Rc'd, obviously this was prior to GE.
Met the guy by the Monks place close to Edgeville.. for whatever reason he was chopping REGULAR TREE'S (Red flag. Lol) and wanted me to meet him there in like lvl 1 wildy.
I was in skiller gear, with no food or teles.
Got barraged and dds speced down. Lost like 10K nats. L

Yes, was like back in 2006? Someone said 'drop party' and lured us ( a lot of people fell for it) to the multi part near the wilderniss below varrock and dropped items in the wild. I didn't die though,
