Whey isn't a substitute, it's a supplement. 3 scoops a day is pointless in my opinion, it would be cheaper and more efficient to stick to a strict diet and program in the long run.

Go with some fruits inbetween the meal or some kind of protein shake if you have yet to consume your daily intake.

i would agree with you, because it is a supplement , but i do include it as part of my meal plan. it's worked for me on my meal plan atm which ive had for almost 2 years. I've been able to go from 315 40% bf to 240 about 25% bf, while going from benching 225 to 315+, and squatting 175 to 405+, and price wise it's about the same either way.

edit: and atm im 6'5 to help you get the picture a little bit better

Yeah, I didn't realize you were using it to cut weight. If it has been working for you and you haven't suffered from any health issues as of yet by skipping meals and replacing them with whey then that's good. Keep doing you.

Meal prep is great for reaching specific and easy macros you may have readily available in myfitnesspal. I weigh every cut of meat, and most rice and vegetables carry the same nutritional contents. But, I follow IIFYM, and it's actually worked very well in the long run. Some foods carry different nutritional contents, however the numbers are what really matters.

I personally don't meal prep, I just try to keep my macros and caloric intake based off of estimation, I used to meal prep.. But when you have college, things tend to get hectic when trying to balance diet/lifting/education.. =\

As of right now, I'm eating pretty clean, a once a week cheat meal (ex. dinner with the buds on fridays), lean protein shakes (with water), and usually for daily meals I eat, a mediterranean style salad, chicken, basmati rice (the best.) :p

personally, unless you're just doing it for the hell of doing it, if you're working out without some type of protein supplement, you're just wasting your time, unless you can get around 75% of your body weight in g of protein through eating, go with that, but otherwise i think its a necessity if you want to take it serious haha, but thats just my two cents on it :p
