2005... while you can find more vb6 related stuff here on sythe, and alot of sythe vbers use vb6 for coding our clients/etc., it's outdated and you really should learn the newer technology. I am personally planning on porting my client as well as my other stuff over to 2005, gotta learn the language first though.

Also, microsoft has a really good knowledge base for vb2005... in the code editor if you highlight a function or api call and press F1 it'll bring up a page showing exactly how to use it. vb6 doesn't have this.

As for a download link, that depends. If you know what bittorrent is and how to use it, you can download the entire 500 meg VB2005 Pro cd image here:
    http://btjunkie.org/torrent/Microso.../4791a0869d2179aecdeab5c51c2c656564cf5307d992

If you just need the express edition that microsoft offers for free, you won't need to know how to use bittorrent. Go here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/downloads/default.aspx

download it, get your free registration key, and then you can use it forever. Its missing some features from vb2005, but nothing important for a new coder.
