Phase 2 FAQ

I think that a lot of the protest has been because of misunderstanding or miscommunication.
Here's the low-down on phase 2.

We keep user education open to the public. All tutorials included.
We make a list of the guides and offer them up for sale at a certain price.
If a guide is sold we take it down from sythe.
You get money for the guides that you wrote that have been sold.
20% of your earnings goes to the site.
We are NOT selling the guides to the users of sythe, we are selling the guides to outside people who are willing to pay money for them.

I have a question. Do you pm for example The Main Man if you sold 1 of his guides etc?

 

This proposes a problem leaving them open to the public..


If someone has leaked this idea (remembers TMM bringing it up in IRC) then people will copy the guides and we'll have to face problems with all of that..


How can we fix it?

 

That's the only thing we have to sort out Deacon.
I think we'll do a weekly count of the guides that are sold and pay everyone then.

 

So not monthly then..??

What if we seperate the guides partially? And require each person to post a free guide and a guide for sale?

If we do that, the guides that are free can be the MISC guides so they can still be made into videos and posted on metacafe??

As long as their still open to the public, I'm good with it. (Most of my guides won't be able to be sold, since I have posted them on many sites)

 

Sythe members will still end up losing out - once the guides are sold.

Yea, not many have been using them, but still.

They can just save it in their computer(s). And agreed with that not many has been using them. My oppinion is that most Sythe members are just viewing the black market.

IMO, I doubt that the majority of sythe members will rise in protest if a few tutorials dissapear a week.

Then slowly User Ed is going to lose its ties to the Sythe Community.

It'll seem like a separate group, using the forum only to plan what guides are being sold.
