Any interest in photography here?

Hey guys whats up, been lurking the forums here lately since ive got back into rs via the 2007 scape. Thought I would go ahead and log back in and start posting since I have a valid reason to use the forums again. Since my last departure way back when (I dont have a clue when that even was), ive taken on photography as a hobby, and now part time on the side for money. I was curious if there was any interest out there for a thread based on photogrpahy instead of graphic design. I know back in the day before I was into photogrpahy there were some members here who were.. just testing the waters. Cheers

Wow, those look insane. I'm guessing that those are doctored a decent amount but that's still crazy good

 

I don't know much about photography, but those are insane !

I really love the last one with the cabin in the snow. It's so crystal clear, it's like you're actually standing there looking at the cabin. I imagine you must have spent quite a pretty penny on your camera and lenses and such.

 

The first one yes, its 5 exposures or different images put together to pull the highs and lows from each to bring the detail to the front. Its called high dynamic range, or hdr. The other two are just really long exposures, only thing I did was put my logo on and adjust the white balance a bit so it wasnt so orange.

These are really nice, love the second and the third the most. I think it was the contrast from the snow to the christmas lights. It's also pretty cool considering I live in Adelaide, Australia, where I've never seen snow. Cool pictures

 

Thank you, yes sometimes snow and contrast are two things you cant contain in the same picture haha, somtimes you can.

Shane, do you happen to be in the car scene as well? I Could have sworn I saw some of your photos on a few of the car forums I frequent.

Either way, great stuff man. I'd love to see more.

 

My company also works with photography, although we're more centred around the real estate and aerial sides...

Clearly the cameras we use aren't nearly as good and the images aren't nearly as refined...

 

I'm very interested in photography still haven't managed to buy my first DSLR yet, but I've already begun to do some research and compare between certain models.

Currently got my eyes on a Nikon D series.

I used to think it was just point and shoot and your done, but seems to me it's much more complicated now that I've actually spent some time reading up about photography. I still don't know much about post production editing though.
