What is your method of creating the safest account trade?

Over the years of my RS career, I have bought several accounts. Some of these were on Sythe, some on other sites as well. I would say a solid 70-80% of them got recovered in the end. Now, a lot of this has to do with my being young, ignorant & impatient, back in the day. Learned my lesson there.

Old RS (Prior to EOC) had a much easier recovery system, it seemed like back in those times, just a few minor details correct and you could recover an account & at least get in a lock battle with the previous owner, these days it's MUCH more difficult to successfully recover an account, especially with the original owner having the same IP the account was created on. I usually trust my intuition on the person and build great rapport prior to a purchase, however; even with that I have realized a lot of these traders initially dont intend to hack the account back, but after 3-6 months, they miss the rune (go figure) & then recover the account.

Due to all these changes, I have begun to trust account trading MUCH less and typically wont even consider anyone not well trusted.
-Which I know is a kind of a contridiction of my Sythe acc w/ how low my post count is. Been around here for several years, but I take breaks from the RS community due to the fact I get FAR too addicted and it consumes my life lol.-


However, outside of all of this, I wanted to know you guys' methods when buying accounts from people that arent necessarily "Highly trusted"

Do you require OMM to do lock/recovery test, Do you even consider the trade at all?
Etc.
What are YOUR best methods?

For account trades nothing is really safe. But in my opinion I would always suggest using a well known Middle Man that records all of his Trades and Middle Man services such as myself (Excelont).

The buyer gives the Gold to the Middle Man

The seller than gives the acc info to the Middle man, and the Middle man changes the info to whatever of his liking so that the Seller cannot change anything mid trade.

Once the Middle man thinks the acc is safe enough to hand over and is in the Middle mans possession he will give the seller the gold or give the buyer his account. Which ever he prefers first.

That's the transferring part.

For Buying accounts, always make sure it is a reputable user.
But buying accounts is always a huge risk in which people resell accounts and then the Original owner recovers back once they realize it has been resold. Just stick to well trusted account sellers and make sure THEY ARE THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE ACCOUNT.

 

Your account won't be safe. Literally all the og owner needs to do is get in touch with a mod via social media or anything prove he's the og owner and can have you and everyone else locked out of the account forever.Despite any information you could possibly know about the account and if it's all 100 percent true.

the recovery system is barely the best way to recover your own account.

Only way you can trust if your account is safe is if you can trust the seller to be safe. There is nooo way around this and i cant stress that enough. Don't cheap out on a account or you'll get burned. All an Omm or MM can do is make sure the account is yours for a brief period and your not scammed during the actual trade itself.

Whats your opinion on buying from someone highly trusted on here, after they got the account from someone they trust and will be reselling it?
Basically getting it from someone trusted but isnt the Original Owner.

 

If you're able to handle account sales, video taping the account transfer process + getting the details from either the buyer or seller depending on where you are in the spectrum would prevent some risk.

Take detailed notes of account usage beforehand and also name changes so you can reverse the process as a last resort.

Waiting for payments as well as holding them triggers risk which can be upheld by taking proper security measures.

All you have to do if using a middleman is drag any scammer down by holding their reputation against them.

This is fine just make sure you don't expect the 2nd owner to be able to recover the account for you. The 2nd owner will have refund you tho. You can't sell anything on here without taking full ownership if something goes wrong. You can't just sell a person something then take no responsibility for it even if not the og owner.

 

I've seen a guy think he could buy accounts quick off anybody and sell them immediately after for profit cause he was a lil trusted. He would say he held no responsibility for the account since he was not og owner. He even stated this before he sold said accounts and he got absolutely ffucked when they all got recovered. He tried to say he said he wasn't liable but the mods where not having it made him repay every cent. The rules are in place to protect against these types of people.

 

Yeah, rightfully so. Thats great they have the rules set up that way, it makes trading a lot easier in that sense. I feel a lot more comfortable knowing that the seller in liable, even if the acc gets recovered.
Btw, do you have recommendations on people you believe to ne safe acc sellers?

 

Basically if they have over like 20 account sales and nobody has said absolutely anything negative i'd trust them.

 

A few years ago, my friend told me about this one guy selling a bunch of accounts that had 99 Thieving. I bought one and nothing bad ever happened.

Account sales are risky regardless of who is your seller. The only thing that differentiates between sellers is credibility.

 

I'd trust most people with 20+ vouches unless it's just those vouches like ''bought 5m 07 from out website'', but proper trade vouches. But obviously, it depends on the account. If its a high level account ($50+) I'd only buy from trusted users. But like I said, 20+ vouches and ill trust them with a junk account (Less than $50).

And as the stickyes states, the original owner can always recover the account. Original IP > All recovery info etc

 

Yeah, thats a good rule of thumb. However; I personally never buy garbage accounts. Defeats the purpose for me. So trusted sellers only from here forward.

 

I'd never buy an account from an untrusted person, it's a joke lol.

 

Amen. I suppose then the questiom becomes, what do you consider "Trusted"

 

Personally I only consider the mods, Bogla, Divica, and the 1k+ donors "trusted" in the Sythe sense of the word. And then there's the 1% of people you can slowly sniff out that are just genuine types. Other than that group, I wouldn't put anything I would care to lose on the line.
