Skype hacked no need refund?

So in several past cases, when your Skype got hacked, but not your sythe, you won't have to refund anyone scammed by ur Skype.

Why this guy have to refund? The image didn't show any sythe pm so i assume his sythe was not compromised?


On another note, i dont understand the policy of Skype hacked = no need refund. You should be responsible for your Skype just like you should be responsible for your Sythe.
I dont even understand how people get hacked so often...i have never ever been hacked in my life... just run any unknown program/website in sandbox?

 

I think people get hacked from not knowing how stuff works, for example.
You can make a hotmail account and add two factor authentication to it, basically making it Impossible for your skype account to be compromised..

Instead people sign-up on skype.com and make a normal account, every couple of months exploits are found in servers/databases and passwords are cracked/released, now people without the 2fa enabled are now screwed, same thing goes for people with sythe.

If you have a sythe account, no reason why you shouldn't have 2fa.

You can setup 2fa on a computer, I think if you're fair warned on how to get a secured skype/sythe and something happens.. that's on you.
I think all users should be warned/held responsible from here on out..

You're letting yourself become vulnerable, and for what?
You don't want to add people all over again? they have programs for that..

You should be held responsible for anything that occurs on your Sythe/Skype account. That being said, LOCK IT DOWN.

If they would have followed the Sythe safe way of trading, they should have pm'd back and forth it takes 2 seconds to pm someone and get a confirmation reply.

 

Totally agree with you, it's super easy for a hacker to find exploits and get the DB. It is actually surprisngly easy. These days I have 2 factor verification on pretty much anything I got just because of that reason.

 

How's so? Most modern databases are encrypted using salt, even if you could somehow hack into Microsoft's database server you cant do much with the encrypted data.

Information security is not my specialisation, but afaik it's not as easy as you make it sound like.

Extremely determined and capable hackers might be able to do it, but they will not be interested in hacking skype accounts...

Honestly, I think nobody should be refunded, if you cannot use simple logic and click on the skype click to add, it's your own fault.

They arent interested in skype accounts, they are interested in paypal and ebay accounts, they have a real value and the criminals love that. Every now and then there is an exploit and some dedicated hacker will strike and steal the db. With less popular sites its easier, like some smaller amazon based web site would be a quick target for them and could get away with credit card numbers.

 

Why is no mod responding to this...?
