Point values are actually the same whether you use a host or self-host a custom rumble with the same bosses. There isn't a penalty per se for not including certain bosses, but there is a point multiplier that goes up the more bosses you include.

 

I prefer spending more of my own money rather than funding the botters )

 

It's not like this update was unexpected though, people have been requesting it for a while now
