Have you ever thought about/deleted social media ?

I delete my fb! You got no privacy

 

Often think about deleting Facebook, it really is the digital cancer of this age.

 

Deleted several times, longest break was nearly a year. Was fed up with all the bullshit on social media, people posting dumb shit like "today i worked 28 hours" "oh look its raining"

 

I thought about it, and came to the conclusion I may regret doing so, so I just don't go on facebook anymore in the event I lose contact with friends. I just use twitter to keep up to date with the world and such.

 

I only use social media (facebook in particular) to talk to some people I don't talk to on teamspeak, for example to arrange a meet with several people at the same time cause it's easier that way. If I ever applied for a job I would probably delete it and recreate a new one just to remove the junk thats on there. I haven't thought about deleting it for any other reason

 

I just hide posts from these friends and combined with the pages that I follow on Facebook, I find it akin to reading the frontpage of a newspaper that's tailored to my interests - they put out the headlines and as I'm scrolling through my feed I can click the ones I actually want to read.

 

I deleted my facebook for a year and then came back to keep in touch with close friends with the messenger. I've disabled my wall/picture tagging etc so the only way people can interact with me is the messenger.

I have no regrets about doing it so I guess it worked out well for me.

 

I use to use Facebook twitter Instagram, it's all a waste of time. I could care less about pictures other people are posting wether it's people I know or celebs I just don't have a single care to look at that anymore. Take it from me life becomes a lot more simple when your not using social media.

 

I've settled to just having maxed out privacy settings

And tbh I hardly use it now anyway. Everyone that I care about I either see irl or have their number

 

I recently came to the decision to delete all of my social media as well. It was a combination of not using it, realizing the content is mostly things I don't care about/wont better my life, and wanting to get back on more of a personal level with family and friends. It is so easy to allow social media to make up for lack of face to face or even on the phone time with your family and other loved ones. After deleting my facebook I have started talking with my great grandmother on a weekly basis, which I think is better for both of us. All in all, I would recommend it to anyone who really couldn't care less about the things people post like myself.

 

well.. i stopped using insta.. because i kept getting followed by all these people, got to the point were it was so annoying, can't go to sleep without a follow or a like, so i just stopped using it lol ._.

 

I deleted all of my social media... Gives me a lot of extra time during the week
