NXT Client In Closed Beta

Runescape has developed a new client written in C++ instead of Java.

This weekend there is a closed beta where some people will get to try it out.

Requirements are: Premier club membership, having a monthly membership that hasn't lapsed since 2012, or having an in-game title from previous beta tests.

What do you guys think about NXT? Hyped for a full release?

 

Screenshots not loading for me, but I do have an account that's eligible. It's still paying $5.00 for membership per month lol. Can't wait to test this out.

Have you seen the guy's vids of him making oldschool in HD, btw? He's embarrasing the 07scape devs left and right lol.

I've seen the OSRS in HD video. Not NXT related but similar.

There's still a lot of bugs with the client but overall the visuals are pretty great. Being able to render way off into the distance is pretty sweet

 

I know they aren't related, but that's the first time I've actually seen NXT footage. Took them long enough, but that actually looks crazy. Love how it looks so nice, but still keeps the RS3 feel.

 

I have access, I do really think it's great although obviously there are some kinks to work out. Supposedly will help people with slower rigs get better frame rates as well. Looking forward to the release, will usher in a new era for Runescape.

 

Looks really great, wish I had access to the beta, It looks soooooooo much nicer. Any ideas when this will be released in open beta?

 

The NXT client makes a HUGE difference. After this weekend going back to the normal client is going to be awful.

Not sure about the release date, but I hope they put it out ASAP.

 

I've heard the client may be released summer 2016, which means they should have an open beta within the next few months.

 

I'm not as psyche with this update as the double exp weekend though. Graphics don't really matter to me. If they had kept the old school graphics, I would still play the game.

 

Graphics look amazing.

 

Never played runecsape 3 except for a couple days into the release and on/off now on my max caper but this new client looks absolutely sick. Definitely gonna try this when they officially release it.

 

hmm.. Honestly what does this mean for botting? I think it may create an advantage.
