About "Buying vouches"

I know vouches are mostly used to seem "trusted".. But i noticed people have those threads "Giving names for vouches!" .. Basically giving lvl 3 accs with crappy names made up in 10mins for vouches and then quote the vouches in their sig etc.. Is this allowed? As i see this can increase scamming (someone has 20 vouches.. Ok so he seems trusted then, but he has got all of them giving "z0mgt3h1337z0rm4g3z0r names..) If not increasing scamming, atleast "cheating" to be more trusted?

Yes, the vouch problem is rather out of control... Though I'm not sure what we are going to do to combat it. Perhaps make a rule that only people 100+ posts can vouch and only if they've traded with the person or something...?

I just don't know. Hopefully we'll think of something.

Yea.. Because its not good if u can "Buy trust".. That will most likely lead to some scammer reports by people who got scammed cause the person has many vouches and that made him look trustworthy :/ Well, not really a big problem for me.. I rarely use the black market anyway.

 

Very good idea but mayb all you have to do is make only certain things can be vouched for like training and MMing those sort of things. This will make the easy things not counted as a vouch

 

I already made a sticky in user services, and the middleman forum. Users who sell vouches will be infracted, so just report it in the spammer forum if someone does it.

 

Why not have a rule that from now on; in vouches, it must say what that person did. Wether it be MMing, or giving away services

 

Well it would be hard to do vouches only if you've traded them. How would you get the 'veteran' vouch that you need for the application? Not many of them trade.

I think they should be banned right away if they are trying to buy vouches...

 

You could ASK for vouches. Or have something on your record that says 'I gave away this and this'

It's seems kind of obvious of their intentions. Buying vouches, for what? Lol.

 

why don't we just make it so you can only get vouches by successfully trading rs gp/money? seems easier than doing a 100 post thing.... OR we could just make a rule stating "Vouches mean nothing."

People could lie. There's no point in adding that rule.
